I want one as well. I don't mind rust, I just want the original S14 with it. Do you guys think I could get a decent car for under $7,500 or 10k? I just want it to have the original driveline. I don't mind minor body damage or rust. (I prefer not to have it though.) Waiting for the best price is obviously not something that you can do. The E30 M3 as you all know (well... most of you) is a MUCH more rare and expensive car than the average e30 325i. What are they going for in rough shape now? I can't find a great source to buy a ratted out one. S14.net mostly has M3 parts from what I've seen, but I could be wrong. (I probably am.) Thanks.

What is funny is everyone is jumping in to flame on OP for no good reason. If he's a noob then be helpful and inform him and not be a DICK about it like some of you are. I usually pass up on threads when I don't have nothing nice to say, some of you should grow up and do the same.

Good luck in your search OP.

Here's kinda where the markets at right now

Under 10k is a rusty rolling shell
10-15k is a track rat or very rusty or damaged/accident, no s14
20k is good condition, possibly some rust, replaced panels
          25k is great condition
          30k+ will get you a excellent/mint one

          Very rough estimate
          Current:
          1989 325i
          1988 M3
          1987 325ic
          Past:
          2001 330ci
          2001 M3

This seems fairly accurate from what i have seen as well. I would be vary wary of an example going for 10k or less...

A s-14 motor alone depending on what's included in need of rebuild will sell for at least $5k these days. there was one on ebay recently with an asking price of $9500.

A solid motor in know good condition or a with a fresh rebuild is going to go for $10k not including accessories, wire harness, and other items.

The days of finding an e30m3 roller without a motor for under $10k are long gone.

Two I have seen are a 3K rusted to shit roller (buyer was surprised chassis didnt snap in half when he flat bedded it) and a 7K minor rust roller. That is it.

                      My don't quote me list:

I should have tried to buy one a few years ago, rather than dumping a ton of money into my non-M E30s. That ship has sailed - I'll probably never be able to afford one now :/

Dios mio! Wonder where that will end up Can't imagine it going for under $7 or $8K. If this was Spring and I had my bonus check I'd be all over this. :(
