Appears to be running a little warm in the picture of the cluster. What's up with that? Aux fan still workin?

The picture of the cluster is taken at an angle, so it would appear that the needle is past center. This effect is called "parallax."

The needle actually rides slightly to the left (cold side) when you look at it from straight on.

Very fair price considering all of that engine work. Good luck with the sale!

Thanks man, put a lot of time and money into it. Still needs a bunch of stuff, but the heavy lifting is now done.

If Parallax is used to explain the picture of the temp gauge, then in reality, the needle would be more to the right (hotter), when view from dead center (since the picture is taken from the passenger side).

Uh, no. Not even close. Go warm up your E30 to operating temp. Then look at your coolant gauge from outside the driver's side of the car. It will appear as if your car is overheating, but it's not, because when you look at the gauge from straight behind it, it will be pointed straight up and down, unless your E30 is actually overheating.

"A parallax occurs when you perceive different information depending on the angle from which you view a dial, gauge, or image. There is one correct way to view that gauge, and any other viewpoint will give an incorrect reading."

If you're to the left of an analog gauge, it will appear as if the needle of the gauge is more to the right (overheating).

If you're to the right of an analog gauge, it will appear as if the needle of the gauge is more to the left (running cold).

Don't believe me? step into an airplane with dual analog instruments and have a seat in the left seat. Then look at the instruments in front of the right seat and then compare them to the instruments in front of you.

If anyone else is truly naive enough to think that the car is overheating, I will gladly take a video to prove to you how stupid you are.

                  You are 100 percent correct!
The picture of your dash is taken from the (right side) passenger side (not outside the driver side window), so therefore, considering parallax, the needle should 'appear' WAY over towards the left. Yours is pointed towards the right.
You have a nice car, and I believe you that it's not overheating, but your explanation of why the temp gauge is pointing towards the right is not explained by parallax.

It's very clearly taken from the driver's side, still in the car, but very clearly to the left of center (just look at the steering wheel/column). Which is why the circumference of the fuel gauge in the photo is larger than that of the temp gauge in the photo despite the two being the same size in real life.

Glad we at least agree on something though.

I've updated the picture with a more recent one.

Bump for a great seller. The blood sweat and tears that went into making this car right will make the new owner very happy.

Nice car, Parallax and everything :) I still do not understand why some people look at ads just to thrash it, specially since you were kind enough to respond to a half-ass comment.

                          Free bump. GLWS!!!

worth the price IMO. the s38b36 and the 280 trans alone are a 5k easy.
