I am selling my E30. I have had this car since the summer of 2007. It was 'rejuvenated' with paint work and lots of parts bought and installed by me. When the car was complete, including the paint, my investment was at about $8,000, which is what it would have cost me to get one in as good of condition, but i knew all of the inner workings of mine. This E30, initially a spare car to be used as a daily driver, became my hobby and project car and I've invested a lot of time and care into getting it to look as nice as possible and factory, and doing whatever I did as best as I could and to be done well the first time around.
I purchased the car from an old lady, stripped it myself, got it painted and put everything back on myself, including the headliner and sunroof, which works and does not leak! See the below thread for the work I did to this car and the updates from initial purchase to the recent images:
^^this thread will be good reference as you read more of the items below.
Reason for selling my E30:
I had never intended to sell my E30, and I wish I could keep it, but I just cant. I live in an apartment and between a motorcycle, a Vespa, a 2002 and an E39, the E30 is the one that needs to go. I've enjoyed driving it everyday to work, Eastern Long island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland. I have always treated it as a car I'd have forever and never, in close to 6 years of ownership, did it ever break down on one or leave me stranded.
I have recently inherited a 1976 BMW 2002, and with that I decided to start working on it to restore it to its original glory. With my E30, reliable as ever, having rolled 200,000 miles I decided to buy another car I have coveted for a long time, an E39 and sell the E30 to raise money to invest into the 2002. Here is the green goblin itself:

Note header and 320i radiator:

So, there you have it: the E30 must go. I am sad, but I can say I have enjoyed this car through and through and I am looking for it to go to a good home. Currently the car is insured but i will pull that soon.
So, in selling a car, here is the important information about the E30:
About the car:
Year: 1989
Exterior: Cirrusblau Metallic
Interior: Beige vinyl with dark carpet and black BMW carpet mats
Transmission: Automatic
Current mileage: ~206,000 miles
This car runs and drives well. No suspension clunks, no steering pump whines, no bouncy suspension. At speed it is tight and does not rattle, just a shimmy from the bad alignment (see note about hitting pot hole and bending right front wheel in last snow storm). The body is clean and straight...you will not be disappointed...it was painted 6 years ago (see thread on progress of rejuvenating car).
Maintenance,A brief history and recent work:
-Timing belt was done at 185,000 miles. With timing belt, the water pump, tensioner and all shaft seals and accessory belts were replaced.
-Oil change has 1,000 miles left on it...it has been changes every 3-4,000 miles with Castrol GTX or Castrol High Mileage. Oil FIlters have been MANN or MAHLE.
-OEM air filter change with every oil change.
-Rear wheel bearing replaced about 1 year ago.
-All new OEM motor and transmission mounts installed in November.
-New Steering rack installed in August.
-New AC compressor installed in late July with R-134a retrofit. AC compressor is about 20% more capacity.
-OEM 'I' exhaust was installed about 1.5 years ago.
-Heater core and aluminum piping was replaced about 4 or years ago.
Sale of car includes:
-Extra oil filters from the FCP kit for 10 oil changes.
-Extra 6-button OBC...the one in there currently does the disco lighting on the display.
-GeorgeGraves volt indicator.
-IS lip that I was going to install after the body work needed to repair the lower valance damage from a winter ago.
The bad and issues:
-Door switch for dome light needs to be cleaned: makes dome light flicker.
-Small corrosion bubble under the passenger door (visible in pictures).
-Tapped a high curb and tore the old IS lip...valance and fender need body work. Very presentable and most people don't notice this.
-Automatic transmission has started to slip on heavy acceleration.
-Right front wheel has a bend from hitting a big pot hole in the most recent snow storm. All others are straight.
Additional items:
-Full Euro trim with deleted side marker lenses and new door mouldings in 2008.
-Tool kit in trunk 80% complete.
-Additional light installed in existing cutout in the boot lid structure for better visibility in dark.
-All new sunroof seals, window seals, door seals, HVAC box re-circulator flap seals (no joke) in 2008
-Re-upholstered rear window shelf
-Front doors and rear quarters lined with vapor barrier
-Installed heated seats with OEM wiring harness, on OEM console on OEM seats...I removed the up-holstery and re-installed all myself.
-Never failed an inspection.
-Includes an extra set of rear e-brake pads.
Price: $3000.00 neg. cash in hand.
Location: Car is located in Ronkonkoma, NY. Zip code is 11779.
