WALK AROUND VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLoAzkGHRgk
Update: e36 M3 steering rack is going in THIS WEEK. Along with new control arms, tie rods, sway links, all lower bushings. I needed new tie rods for the rack swap, but i decided i might as well do preventative maintenance and replace the control arms and all bushings again.... bc thats how i do. 8-)
note: This car was not built to be a show car, hellaflush/stance, etc. It was built for performance and to be driven, inspired by hillclimb and rally. It is raw, quick and responsive on the throttle, and not for the weak.
Im looking to get an e46 m3, but also interested in and s2k or 350z.
1989 325is. Body 190k Engine 77k (odometer working and reset to match original s52 engine mileage)
healthy m20 was pulled, and s52 swap was done about 4 months ago.
only use synthetic royal purple race oil and 93 octane gas.
3.73 lsd
BC racing coil-overs (damper adjusting and camber plates) handles like on rail they can even go lower if you want. i used to have the h&r cup kit, but i just upgraded to these 2 months ago.
heat works.
custom a/c lines, so every thing worked. compressor tested and blew cold. ( shortly after, I kinked one a/c hose accidentally, so now there is a visible leak. I haven't had time to fix it and its still winter time. Any shop that does hoses can replace it.)
power sunroof and windows work. All gauges work like factory.
key-less entry w/ aftermarket alarm.
obd1 converted. manifold, sensors. fuel rail, temp sensors, IE metal water pump, etc
engine was from auto, with under 70k on it. It has about 77k on it now.
i used m20 getrag 260 (5spd) tranny, converting to single mass flywheel/ clutch (lighter than dual mass for better acceleration to fully harness power to weight ratio) also, bc the trannys are cheap and more than capable of handling power. custom angled selector rod for shifter, and clutch is brand new. raplaced guibo, bushing, solid poly tranny mounts, and everything you can think of. I accidentally put in the old throw out bearing so there is a rattle. Recently, i drove this car 7 hours to new orleans, and the tranny developed a small whine. Its a common problem, but its only a nuisance. mechanically, it shifts like butter and no slipping. But that being said, it is annoying and i will be replacing the tranny within the next month or so.
24lb injectors, v8 3.5 maf, K&N filter, walbro hp fuel pump
red label dme, with professional custom tune.
new control arms/ tie rods and all bushing were done 2 years ago. subframe bushings done 4 months ago.
rear has 22mm sway bar with adjustable links. also has trunk bolt through sway support.
hands down, BEST sounding s50/52 ever. no cats (don't need emissions bc car is a classic this year) long tube ebay headers to 2.5 single pipe to muffler (double tips). not loud, but not quiet. no droning on highway, just a beautiful sound from the engine.
racing skids skids plate
pioneer cd player with usb/aux. speakers sound decent.
yakima roof rack with attachments and built in lock with key.
interior is in great condition. momo hub and montecarlo wheel. "is" sport seats.
"is" front lip, all red tails, euro tag up front but i currently have it plastidipped. hella crosshair rep headlights. also have originals if you want.
16x9 esm002r wheels, all around. i have center caps and bbs stickers to go with them ;) also 3 mm spacers all around to clear suspension. good tires.
i think im forgetting a ton of things, but il add on to this as i remember
cons:
-chips in windshield. 1 is pretty bad. little dings and dents here and there. most noticeable is on the hood from closing it on a tool. (you can thank my friends for that)
-small crack in one headlight lens.
-crack in front lip
-the a/c hose kinked as mentioned above
-removed cruise control
-windshield wiper motor died. Rain X does the job though.
-leaky power steering hose. it may even be the steering rack. I have been meaning to upgrade to e36 steering rack.
-fenders have some paint chips from rubbing before i rolled the fenders.
-the small tranny whine, as mentioned above.
im pretty firm on price. $10,000 as is. i think its fair.
$9,400 with out the esm wheels. i have bottlecaps, but they may need tires
i may consider interesting trades, up or down.
serious buyers only. call or preferably txt

naturally, i spent a a few more thousand than my asking price on this car. i just know il never get that money back. Once i replace the tranny and fix a few of those problems i addressed, I am going to bump the price up a good bit. as for now, i will continue daily driving it.
