FS/FT: 1984 733i DD, rust free, looks and runs great

Will trade for a 4cylinder bmw, VW or Miata, or civic etc. or e30 eta...I need all the fuel economy I can get for my commute. Auto or manual, but it MUST be DD worthy as is.

    Asking price for cash: $2,500.

Car is located in Simi Valley CA

Hey guys, I recently moved from NJ to CA and bought this when I got here a month ago to get me to and from interviews, but after a month of looking I accepted a position with twice the crappy commute I was expecting. This has been a great car, dependable and comfortable that literally came from the little old lady we all want to buy cars from who bought it new and kept it until her unfortunate passing in 2012. It was then purchased by a Graduate student in Camarillo to use for his last year of grad school internships and while job hunting to "look more professional," and then I bought it from him.

As enthusiasts who can work on our own cars, many of us can buy an e23 needing work for much less, I understand. But this is a rust free DD with a clean and documented history and I'm selling it for just what I have in it, my purchase price plus the brand new tires I just installed. The body is straight and very clean with no dents or dings. It is sitting on a heavy up-slope in the pics, hence the monster trucking in the front! Full description below.

I also apologize for the dusty exterior in the pics, I had gotten it washed before my meeting then unknowingly had to drive down a gravel driveway following a long drive back home! I have more pics that I'm waiting to be transferred from off my phone so if you'd like more shoot me a msg with your phone number and I'll text them to you immediately.

    Copied from my CL ad:

I am selling my 1984 733i (the trunk is badged 735 but it is a 733) with only 173,xxx miles and brand new tires all around. It was purchased new by an older woman who kept the car until her passing in 2012 (all paperwork is present from her entire ownership since purchased new.) The car was always maintained by BMW and it looks, and runs great! The car is rust free all over, obviously garage kept it's entire life, and the interior is in pristine condition with only a few minor blemishes here and there. All seats are near perfect and the back seat appears to have never been used. The toolkit is complete and in MINT condition!

The dash is near perfect with only two very minor cracks to be found. The paint is excellent with the acception of some fading on the roof and sunroof, but otherwise is very presentable and shines up well. All lights and electronics function including all options on both power seats except the drivers headrest doesn't function (This is an easy fix if you have the time to go in and shorten the sleeve over the cable.) She has been my DD without a single issue. The chain driven m30 engine starts and runs great, the transmission shifts flawlessly in and out of every gear and I was told it was replaced under 50k miles ago. Suspension is stiff and comfortable at all speeds and brakes are very good. She drives straight and solid at all speeds and is a beautiful cruiser at 75! The leather on the steering wheel is pristine and the rear windows have been professionally tinted.

Cons to mention, the cruise control module may need replacing because cruise has recently stopped working. A/C HAS been converted to r134 but will definitely need a recharge before summer.

This is a beautiful classic fit for any enthusiast to enjoy. I'm a long time BMWCCA member and enthusiast and I've owned well over 50 vintage BMW's over the years. If you have any questions or would like to come see the car please don't hesitate to contact me.

    Thanks!
