This car is sold
Hi r3v, I'm just going to be as honest as I can about everything here, I don't try to hide anything, but I'm also not an expert. I am happy to answer any questions that I can.
So, with that said, I bought this car last night. Any information comes from the previous owner besides what I can visually verify myself. I would have loved to keep this car and fix it up, however my other car (Jeep) died today, and I just need one reliable daily driver, can't be messing around with projects, which is more of what I would call this. I bought it from a younger guy who seemed more interested in the audio system than maintenance. He was actually a good guy, and it's a car worth being saved, but needs work. Hopefully goes to an e30 expert, as it will need work, but its a decent base. I would consider trades of similar value that won't need any work right off the bat.
car has 153k on broken odo
cracked dash
e46 power leather seats, drivers split seam
5 lug and s52 come from a 98 m3 and have 80k miles on them
24lb injectors, some kind of header and exhaust
looks like everything is there for a/c, doesnt work
heat works, p/s works
m3 front brakes, not sure what is used in rear
2.93 lsd
17x8 1/2 beyern wheels, 245 tires need replacement right away plus alignment
H&R springs bilstein HD shocks
plastic bumper conversion, some kind of skirts and rear apron
repainted, has some kind of silver flake, not a terrible job but not great, some chips in paint, worst is drivers front fender where it looks like the tire bent part of it out.
No major rust that I saw, a little bubble and sunroof and a little on front of battery tray
Tires need to be done right away
Large vacuum leak somewhere causing power loss (or lots of little ones) I taped over a few that I easily saw, I didn't have the opportunity to chase them all down. I might depending on how long this car lasts for sale. I would say just about everything in the intake path needs replacing. Hoses were brittle and cracked
alignment needs to be done
brakes need to be bled
passenger window needs help going up
I did drive it home about 75 miles in this condition, it will technically drive fine, but I certainly wouldn't call it daily driver ready.
I am including pictures of the previous owners craiglist ad, and I'm asking the same price @ $4500. Even with needing some help, I really don't think you can find a cheaper e30 s52 5 lug combo.
