This car kind of fell into my lap, and we did a bunch of work to get it to a good driveable level. The parts replaced by me and my mechanic show that. The major mechanicals are solid. Motor doesn't smoke, bog, or have any trouble idling smoothly. The transmission shifts through all of the gear smoothly (thought it could use a set of shifter bushings). At this point, the major stuff is taken care of, and it needs some smaller issues addressed. The fog lights aren't working (probably a relay), and the front brakes should be replaced in the next 6 months. The stepper motors in the HVAC system have quit, so take the summer to get those replaced as well. The front shocks are due for replacement. Bottom line, it is a clean driver, a 10 foot looker, and an opportunity to own a limited production car that is just plain cool. Not many folks with one of these that has the 5-speed. Someone else (me) has done the hard work on the car, and it is inspected through the end of the year. Drive it, enjoy it, and tackle the little issues as you go.

Windshield being replaced (not a small matter on these cars), and picked up a set of oem BMW style 2 wheels which are on the car now...so you get two sets of wheels/tires with the car!

                    Guys,
After spending a couple months with my head in the books for the bar exam, this car is back up for sale and I have tended to a few of the issues with the car. A new OEM windshield was added (huge deal as the insurance company wanted to cop out of the $800 of specialty factory parts), a second set of model-correct Type 2 wheels were purchased and fitted (car now comes with two sets of wheels), brake rotors, pads, and sensor wires were ordered and have come in (and will likely be installed in short order), and a new battery is on order for the car.... I have it posted on CL for $3400 and can be persuaded on a trade for something interesting.....
