SOLD: 1984 325e autox/track rat San Rafael CA

I would like to pass my 325e on to some one who will use it more then I do. I put this car together hoping I would find the time/money to do more autox and hopefully get into some HPDE events, but thats not happening. This car is not fun to drive on the street, so no good for daily driving.
I am not sure of the exact millage because I put a new gauge cluster in. Its high though. The engine still runs strong and reliably, but has oil leaks.
The only real negative part of this car is the paint and body seals. I got it out of a driveway where it had been cooking in the sun. I replaced the rear quarter window seals with some nice ones from Pick N Pull, same with the trunk and hood. Heater seal leaks something offal. Original grey paint is very faded, and comes off easily if you put any tape on the car. Small rust dots here and there from rock chips but no bubbling or actual cancer. There is a soft large dent on the drivers side rear quarter that could be popped out easily. Most of it is on the plastic bumper trim on the corner. Car has had damage on the passenger front corner at some point that was repaired, and does not show up the cars history.
Mechanically the car is very sound with lots of go fast parts, regular maintenance and fluid changes.
All in all this is a great candidate for some one to keep working with to build a great little track toy. With a fresh e36 swap this car would be such a blast!

Yeah I just dont feel like I can justify keeping the car around. I drive my truck everyday, and only use the e30 ones a month for the odd autox. I can not afford track days at $400 for an event. I had to quit my job because of joint injuries.
I will only sell it if I can get the right price. If not Ill keep it and hope I can get a good job that wont destroy my body at a young age. ;)

Damn, I'll miss this thing. Great car, super honest seller.

I really hope you end up keeping it. Lots of hours involved in getting it to where it is.
Drive it hard. Maintain it well.

I understand this car does not look like much but its excellent mechanically and has lots of new expensive parts on it.
Come take it for a drive

Also interested in trading for a e34 manual car. White would be best but other colors are fine.

                          Price drop to $4,500
Even with the 'e' motor (which runs really nicely) and the ugly paint you will save a few grand over buying a e30 and building the same car. Save your self some time and money.
Help me get into a comfortable old man e30.
