    ***SOLD***FS: 1989 325is, Alpine/Blk, S50 with UPGRADES, TONS of new parts

    ***SOLD***

This E30 has been my baby for the past year or so and I know I’ll probably regret selling it with all the work put into it. I bought this car with a motor in pieces in SC where it had been sitting for I assume 10+ years (the tags still had '02 on them). It had been garaged and/or covered the whole time it was sitting. Overall in great condition! Clean title.

I'll let the details speak for themselves but this car has been THOROUGHLY gone through with most parts having less than 500 miles. YES THAT FEW. Oh and NO RUST!

    Engine

    - NEW Radiator Temp switch (80*C)

    - NEW Walbro 255 fuel pump
    - Powder Coated Valve Cover (wrinkle black)
    - NEW Motor Mounts (green ones)
    - NEW Battery

    - NEW Front Strut Mounts (Boge)

    - Goodridge SS brake lines (all 6)
    - ATE Type 200 fluid (need to confirm, whatever the non-blue stuff is)

    Driveline
    - G260 5-speed swap with ALL linkage rebuilt with delrin rear bushing and new pins, bitch clip and Z3 short shifter. Redline fluids.

    - 3.73LSD with great lock-up. Painted to clean it up. Redline fluids.
    - Cleaned up diff cover with new mount

    Wheels/Tires
    - NEW Falken FALKEN ZIEX ZE-912 (less than 500 miles) on pretty clean weaves.
    - Some curb rash but NO bends/cracks/etc.

    Body
    - All wheels wells sealed with rubber liner.
    - Paint overall is an 8/10. Recently has had a full polish as I got tired of the slightly faded paint. It came RIGHT BACK UP and looks fantastic. It isn’t perfect but for single stage paint it looks good. It was first clayed and some items taped off/removed then hit first with Wolfgang’s Uber compound, followed by Duragloss 501, Duragloss 105 and finished with Collinite 845. There are some expected weathering on the leading edge of the hood and where it angles up near the windshield. Some “peppering” from 25+ years.
    - Some dings/dents and small chips. Only one is creased so they probably can be pulled easily. I’ll probably get them pulled before sale. One dent/scratch with a mild crease on passenger rear that I will look to get addressed as well.
    - Rear IS spoiler (old cracked on will be thrown in too)
    - Hella Euro SMOKED Headlights (minimal pitting) with 55w HIDs (seller can chose non-smoked Euro Smileys in great shape if they want or non-HIDs as well)
    - Euro Grills
    - WORKING Foglights with no cracks and probably 7/10 on pitting (HID kit included but not installed)
    - Euro rear plate filler (not yet installed)
    - NEW Front and Rear Roundels (not yet installed)
    - Volvo Lip
    - Smoked reflectors front reflectors, “painted” smoked side reflectors
    - Painted window trim (done after pictures)
    - NEW Bosch wipers

    Interior
    - AMAZING condition. Seats are an honest 9/10 leather (black). Some very light wear on driver’s outside hip area but that is it.
    - Carpet has been painted black. Good but not show worthy. It is very clean.
    - EVERYTHING WORKS with no CEL’s or other odd lights. Blinkers blinks, wipers wipe, etc.
    - Mtech I Steering wheel
    - E30 M3 one piece shift lighted knob/boot combo (ZCP?)
    - Painted/Dyed Rear parcel shelf (black)
    - NO dash cracks
    - All seat functions work but I think the passenger seat needs to have both levers pushed to lean forward. It is a little finicky but not a big deal.
    - Replaced blower motor with good unit
    - NEW Garagistic ODO gears

    Misc.
    - SumpArmor Skid Plate
    - …I’m sure I’m missing some other little things

I believe nearly every major item except for the wheel bearings have been replaced. Literally the whole can has been gone through. The only reason those were NOT replaced was there was no need to. Some small stuff here and there that I will be working on in time (cruise control, small crack in rear center bumper trim, paint washer tank black, tint windows, etc). It runs GREAT and I really can’t find any flaws with it. NO leaks, odd noises or other odd behavior at all.

If you're interested please let me know! I'm looking for $13k for it since it is nearly completely gone through and these are harder to come by in this condition. Yes there are cheaper E30’s but not many have had nearly every area touched and are ready to go with all the PITA jobs done. Also done with quality parts, not the FCP junk (receipts available)! I’m not in a rush to sell and have no problem sitting on it.

Any questions please let me know!

    -James

*I also have a 90% complete OEM Mtech II kit I can negotiate in as well for a good price. I may just throw it on before the end of the summer though but the price would reflect that.

**The flash and sun weren't too generous on the photos, especially the interior ones. It is VERY clean though I will be doing a major interior detail again soon. Also the rear trunk did not picture well because of the angle. It shows shows like the hood and roof. The wheels are a bit dirty as I was planning on pulling them this weekend to do a good clean. The white stuff is simply was when my polish pad decided to disintegrate at the last minute...

***I know my grass needs cut. Wife isn't happy I haven't done it yet...

Thanks! It really looks much better in person and like many of us, I've spent countless hours getting it to where it is and will continue to work on her!

I checked this beauty out, it was practically brand new! Definitely would have gotten it if the money situation was a bit better! And the owner is a great guy who will work with you!

C'mon it isn't that bad is it?!

I agree not my first choice but honestly I threw that on there temporarily as I anticipated putting on the MTech II kit I have. It works well enough, was cheap and with the curb at my driveway I don't have to worry about tearing it up.

If it is a deal breaker with a potential buyer I'll work with them to get an IS lip put on if they prefer that.

I've received quite a few questions from multiple people and thought it would be best to throw them up for everyone. If you have one I can add let me know!

                    Does the AC work?

No it does not. Heat is good as is the blower.

What will it take to make the AC work?

As of tomorrow it will have lines run and I will have the BMW OEM R12 > R134a kit with it as I bought those contingent on a sale but the buyer backed out. I will also knock out the wiring. Outside of that a flush with R134a oil, vacuum and charge should do it but I CANNOT guarantee that. I may or may not have the AC running soon depending on my ability to work on it.

                    Is the exhaust loud?

Not really. It has a nice ton and you know it has an exhaust on it but it isn't annoying at all.

                    Any dings, dents, etc?

Yes there are some, one that is creased. There is some "peppering" on the front valance, leading edge of hood, where hood flips up to windshield, along a-pillars. All common with miles and years. Some wear near the perimiter of the rear spoiler where it appears and old one was loose and "rubbing."

I've received a quote locally to have them taken out with Paintless Dent Removal and the quote was roughly $350 which is reasonable.

I have a dropbox folder I can share with interested parties that has hi-res pic of everything.

Any check lights or other issues?

                    None.

                    What doesn't work?

Off the top of my head are the following but some other small things may sneak up. I'll add them as I think of/find them.

                    - AC: discussed above
                    - Cruise Control: Only needs e36 cable from what I have researched
                    - Euro Smiley running lights: just need to be hooked up to corner lights
                    - Door 'Gong': Just needs to be plugged in. I left it unplugged as it was annoying.
                    - Lit up ZHP knob: just haven't wired it to light up yet

                    How is the radio?

Old. It is a Sony with a cassette deck so don't expect anything crazy awesome. It plays music well but distorts when really loud. If you're an audiophile you'll replace it. If you just like NPR you're good to go! If you like Taylor Swift I have nothing to help you...

                    Any rips/tears in the leather?

                    Nope looks great!

                    Clean title? Any accidents?

Yes as far as I'm aware. I never ran a Carfax as I bought it to be a parts car and when I actually saw it decided it was too nice and was rebuilt. I've been all over the car and nothing points to any damage (paint broken on bolts, rust, loose panels, etc.).

If you were going to keep it what would you do?

Pull the dents, hook up the AC, put on the Mtech II kit, remove the pinstripe, paint the tails, tint the windows and black out the window trim. I may or may not get around to some or all of that in time!

Mechanically the car needs nothing. Cosmetically unless stripped it will never be a "show" car but is pretty damn good!

Are you willing to sell out of state?

                    Yes.

Are you willing to take it to get a PPI?

Yes but the buyer will be responsible for the cost.

Are you firm on the price?

For now I am pretty firm as there are very few in this mechanical and cosmetic shape. I'd say it is nicer than most "non-repainted" E30's cosmetically and mecanically better than 99% of other E30's. It is only getting better the longer I have it!

Have you ever farted in the driver's seat?

Don't ask questions of which you do not want an answer...

Installed the rear euro filler plate, painted the washer reservoir black and refinished the lower "black" trim. Will get some new pics soon. lso have the AC lines run and have the BMW OEM R12 > R134a "kit" that will go with it. Might hook it up before then if I find time.

Finally got the window trim painted to match the other black trim and have refreshed the bottom rocker strip.

                          Few more recent pics

Still seeing if there is interest!

Since the last update I've removed the pinstripe (must cleaner now...), replaced the oil filter housing gaskets (main gasket and O-rings with proper ones), installed a leather eBrake handle and new leather eBrake boot (from TopGaiters on eBay, VERY high quality!), threw in some used carpets, nothing crazy nice but better than nothing! and have done some more general cleanup!
