FS: 1988 325is Track Car with S50 Swap / Plastic Bumpers (Chicago)

Model: 1998 325is (professionally updated with plastic bumpers)
    Color: Lachssilber
Price: $11k obo - I think I got a nice deal on the front end (original ad below), and I've put $1,500 into it in the past few months (tires and maintenance)
Mileage: Odo stopped at 167k / chassis estimated at <200k / suspension all <10 years old / drivetrain estimated at <125k

Reason for sale: I purchased this car over the winter and have only had time to get on track twice so far this summer. This is essentially my dream E30 (after owning many), but I think that I'm going to go back to a daily driver that I can enjoy more often and occasionally track.

I've had other E30s for track and street, and I wish I had gone to an S50 swap years ago. It adds the extra variable of surplus power without diluting any of the known E30 positives. This is as well setup as any I've seen. It's been beautifully and professionally built and maintained. It's just painful to see it sit, and my garage space is limited.

The PO was a CCA and bimmerforums member, and you can see the original ad here:
Bimmerforums is the preferred online BMW Forum and community for BMW owners. At Bimmerforums, you will find technical how-to information maintenance specifics audio advice wheel and tire combinations and model specific details not found anywhere else. Our professionals are here to help make sure you find the answers you need to your questions and our community is here to help other brainstorm ideas for the future.

Here are some pictures from this past weekend (unfortunately bug splattered and fresh from the track, but she shines up like a show car). Zero rust (from Virginia originally) or cosmetic issues.

I'll repost the POs details, edited as needed:

The car was originally built by Mike Robinson of Sports & Imports in Chesapeake, VA, and was meticulously maintained by Bimmerworld from 2007 to 2013. Since I've owned it, I did the following:
    - Replaced tie rods, thermostat, and clutch master cylinder (slight leak)
    - Put new Dunlop Direzza DZIIs (205/55R15) on, so these only have two track days

    Other details that haven't changed:

    1988 352is base car VIN WBAAA130XJ4141605
    1995 E36 M3 S50 Transmission and ZF 5 speed. 3.73 LSD.
UUC/Wilwood style front BBK uses common 7812 pad shape on 11.75 x 0.810 rotors. Carbotech XP-10 pads front XP-8 rear.
    15" Team Dynamic 1.2 Wheels.
Ground Control suspension/Bilsteins/K-Pac camber plates/Sparco strut brace.
    Headers.
    Powerflex solid bushings/mounts.
    SS Brake lines.
    24mm master cylinder upgrade.
    S50 oil distribution block.
    Nissen Aluminum radiator,Spal fan.
    13 lb fiberglass hood.
4-point welded half-cage/Harness bar with floor reinforcement plates and attachment plates at rear shock towers.
    Sunroof cassette sealed.

    Interior:
Stripped. Original dash remains, heater works (very useful on wet track days).
Corbeau seats, Schroth 5-pt harness driver/G-Force 5-pt passenger.
    VAC aluminum floor plates.
    VAC seat mounts.
    Large left foot rest.
    Aluminum pedals.
    Aluminum door panels.
BW race shifter and Delrin Jaffster knob.
    Oil temp and pressure gauges.
Ignition toggle/push start switches. OEM key available.
    Wide-angle race mirror.
    Handheld extinguisher.

Following minor tire-wall incident at VIR in 2007, left front corner was repaired (no frame damage) and exterior completely restored at Steve Bassen Auto Body in Winston-Salem, NC. Paint looks brand new.

Happy to answer questions and send more detailed pictures. Just let me know.

Ohhhh...so tempting...I picked up a bone stock 1990 325i in Silber Metallic (2 owner car with minimal rust- no accidents)- just finished all of the PM (timing belt, cooling system, etc) and am about to install H&R sport springs (already has Bilsteins). But, coming from an E36 M3 (with all Dinan upgrades- I used to work for Dinan) and my DD being an '04 330i ZHP, the M20 is a little...um...weaker than I'm used to. My plan is to drive it with the M20 for a while and do a swap in the future...I may have to schedule a trip to Chicago soon...maybe a trade (my car + cash) could be in the future?

PM sent. This wouldn't exactly solve my garage space issue, but... worth discussing.

Beautiful car man. From the guy who owns very similar car I would say you are selling it cheap. GLWS

Thanks. I suppose "obo" can go both ways if it turns into a bidding war ;)

Bump. Lots of tire kickers. Flexible on price and/or can include extra set of wheels/tires and other spares.
