Good morning R3v, I am selling an average e30 in above average condition.
It's a garage kept 1988 BMW 325 Sedan with 105k miles in near-mint condition. No accidents, clean carfax will be provided. Auto trans shifts perfect, 2.93 lsd rear, fully functioning odometer, power locks, windows, sunroof, antenna and side-mirrors. A/C and heat work along with all HVAC controls. Delphin Grey Metallic paint is 3 years old and in great shape. Cloth interior is super clean but shows some wear on the front seats. Zero rust anywhere. No leaks, creaks, smells, or stains.
I am the second owner but this is basically a 1-owner car, it was purchased new by the previous owner at the time of her retirement and spent 26 years in her care. It was never a commuter car and always parked in a garage until the previous owner lost her license due to poor eyesight at 88 years old. The car was very well maintained and is completely stock. I have no original maitinence records, they were all thrown away by the previous owner's kids when she moved to assisted living.:curse: She assured me that all the major services were done regularly including a "50k" service done at 100k miles two years ago. This included the timing belt & tensioner, water pump, thermostat, radiator, and all hoses and belts. This can all be verified by looking under the hood, it's all brand new up front. I have a copy of her original title and all the original window stickers. It is by far the cleanest original e30 I have ever seen in Pennsylvania.
However, it does have some imperfections which you should be aware of:
It has dings and dents on the doors and fenders. There's nothing major and everything could be repaired with paintless dent removal.
The seats are worn as can be seen in the pictures.
The dash is cracked as usual.
The radio, tape deck, and antenna function fine but I cannot get good FM reception. I've done everything you can on the antenna side of the system to fix this and it still seems to lose FM occasionally.
The oil service indicator light is non-functional, the control-board needs new batteries.
The brake lining light comes on occasionally, loose brake pad sensor wires on the back right wheel are to blame. Brakes all around are good so I was waiting to do the pad sensors when new pads are needed.
No interior dome light, I replaced the bulbs and the fuse blew. I haven't determined the cause yet.
And that's about it for issues, I will update if anything changes.
I'm asking $6000, which is all the money for a 4-door automatic.... But this car has an exceptional history and 6k is the offer I have from my father at the moment. I would be proud to keep it in the family but my Dad tends to think of me as his free personal mechanic and I know he would have me doing all kinds of shit every weekend... Starting with a 5-speed swap which I honestly would not want to do on a car that still has the original spare Pirelli in the trunk.
Personally would love to see it go to an owner who can maintain it and hack it up out of my sight to spare my conscience...
