my red 89 iX is for sale

89 5sp 4dr red on black, 212000, heated vinal seats, ski bag, ac and power antenna still work, tires are great no visible rust but there is some forming under drivers door. repairs since ive owned it (bought in summer 04): t belt, water pump, tensioner, starter, alt., battery, both ca arms and bushings (urethane offset), sway bar links, front shocks (bilstein hd) and mounts, all other belts, wiper motor and linkage, various fuel hoses, trunk seal. other things: drivers halfshaft boot is ripped but i have a replacement that i will include, the rear passenger window is broken but i also have a replacement, sunroof needs a new seal but does not leak to floor. i will also include 4 winter tires and all new fluids (redline) for both diffs and the t-case. would like to get $3200 but open to offers. im located in cambridge ma. just passed inspection in march.

The iX tends to be a double edged sword. On one hand it's probably the 2nd most rare E30 and it's very unique. On the other hand it's expensive to maintain and locate parts for.

So true....I have heard it is more of a money pit than an E30 M3. Still...I'd like an iX coupe.

For some things yes. He's already done the control arms though which are really expensive on the IX.

yeah, the drivetrain and front suspension parts are more expensive and unique to the ix but almost all of them have been replaced within the last year.

my maintenance is the same as any other e30 for the most part. sure some stuff is more but its not like its a big enough difference to really worry about. I guess i should say i wouldn't stay away from an ix due to maintanance costs.
