    FS 1991 318is $5k - Atlanta, GA

Up for sale is my 318is. My husband and I are having our first kid and there is not enough room for a kid seat.

We have done tons of maintenance and up keep to get the car in tip top shape. We are sad to see it go but we need more space.

Enthusiast will recognize the M42 1.8L power plant. They are known to go for a very long time as long as the regular maintenance is done. No timing belt but a timing chain.

This is a Slicktop or non sunroof car, very rare on the 318is which was only produced in 1991.
    Car has 123,XXX miles

It is black on black, and drives like a dream. Very good mpg and fun.

    Recent maintenance:

    Brand new Falken tires
    Timing Chain Tensioner replaced
Profile gasket replaced along with head gasket while we had the head off, the head was machined and received all new parts.
    Intake manifold gasket
Exhaust manifold gasket and exhaust manifold nuts
    New o2 sensor (Bosch)
    New coolant temp sensor,
All vacuum and coolant hoses under intake manifold replaced
Always used Motul for engine oil and brake fluid
    Brand new Fuel pump
    K&n drop in filter
    BMW ZHP shift knob

    Also added ellipsoid lights
Alpine cd played with usb in

Car runs great, clutch grabs strong.
I have driven the car to tucker from Woodstock for two weeks and it has returned
    28+ mpg

    but has a few issues
Paint is in great shape with only a few chips
Several dings on the passenger side, the plastic on the bumper is broken. I have a replacement bumper to go with car.

This E30 is in great shape and can be driven as is without any worry.

    $4500 OBO, No trades.

Is it common for an IS model to have the comfort seats? Do you know if those are original or a replacement?

    Looks great BTW!

No they must have been replaced before I bought the vehicle. The comfort seats are in great shape though!

The odometer went out on the previous owner just before selling it. He was not driving it and kept a log. Since we have had the car we have driven it about 2000 miles. When we had the head off the nylon was not missing at all on the guide. My mechanic confirmed he thought it was a low mileage engine by this.

Why is it that whenever you see an E30 with a broken odometer (which is all of them), it JUST happened recently?

Rhetorical question, if that's not obvious....

My past 2 e30's were parked because the odometers broke. Check the vin via carfax and see what the last reported mileage is. If its like 120k in 1999 and its 2014 then it obviously has more.

Also the nylon on the engine confirms the engine was at least taken care of, how many high mileage m42's still have any nylon on the guides?
