After 11 years of ownership I'm selling my 1990 325is with a conversion to an OBD1 S52 and full E30 M3 suspension and brakes that was completed 5 years ago. Car is located in Sacramento, CA and is BAR/CARB compliant.
I bought the car from the second owner who purchased it from Weatherford BMW in Berkeley in 1999. I bought it from him in 2003 and have owned it ever since. Car has been garaged since both the previous owner and I have owned it. Chassis currently has 168,XXX miles on it. I have full records going back to his purchase from Weatherford.
Swap motor is a 99 S52 from a 99 M Coupe and has approximately 58,000 miles on it. OBD1 swap was completed and car now smogs as a 95 M3 in California. Transmission is a Getrag 250 with a UUC lightweight flywheel, E34 M5 clutch, UUC short throw shifter and Rogue Engineering weighted shift rod. Rear end is a 3.25 lsd.
Suspension and brakes are from an E30 M3. Springs and shocks are Turner J Stock with large Suspension Techniques sway bars. Urethane control arm bushings, sway bar bushings, and shock mounts. Wheels are 17x8 Fikse Profil 10s with 215/45-17 Pirellis P Zero tires. Ride is very stiff but very fun :-)
Body and paint are in incredible shape. Paint is extremely clean and shiny with no fading scratches or dings with the exception of two small dings in the sunroof panel and two small dings on the rear drivers side bumper. There are a some very small rock chips on the leading edge of the hood. No bodywork has ever been performed on the car. Car is absolutely rust free top to bottom.
Interior is stock tan 325is. Rear seat has head rests and ski pass-through. Lighted rear-view mirror. M Tech 2 steering wheel. Alpine 9805 CD player with MB Quart speakers but car needs an amp in the trunk for power to the speakers and crossovers. Dash is crack free.
Issues:
A/C is present and complete but there is a very slow leak in one of the hoses. This will need to be fixed before the system will say charged for a summer.
Turn signal does not auto cancel with the MTech 2 steering wheel and the horn doesn't work. Car will come with the original airbag steering wheel.
Drivers seat has some cracking in it but no tears. Could be refinished with Leatherique.
Windshield washer reservoir is not hooked up but is included with the car.
Car has a Turner Motorsports oil temp sensor in the oil pan but it is not hooked up to the aftermarket gauge panel above the shifter and below the radio
Car is ready to drive anywhere and is very reliable. I've never beat on it or taken it to the track, nor have I had any issues with it since performing the swap. Selling it to buy a surprise for my wife's 40th and for the fact that I barely drive the car with two kids to transport during the week.
Asking 13k or best offer. Not interested in trades.
Thanks!
