My father recently purchased this car from another forum member. This is his first swap experience and the car simply doesn't suit his lifestyle as he had hoped. He is more comfortable in his stock 318is. I have rewritten the description and setup this dedicated thread for the car but the original owner's ad remains for anyone to read as well. He was a nice fellow to work with.
1990 red over black BMW 325i with s50 engine swap and ZF 5-speed transmission. Stock appearance with BBS basket weaves, factory ride height and black vinyl comfort interior. About 152K on teh body with working odometer and Autocheck verification.
The s50 has about 90K miles on it. Recent gasket refresh with new chain tensioner, manifold studs/ nuts, coolant hoses, e36 M3 steering rack and 318is firewall wiring harness cover for a clean look. Oil change and coolant flush this week.
ZF transmission has new shifter bushings with all shift pins refreshed. Mated to a 3.25 LSD for the perfect balance between city and highway driving. New transmission mounts, guibo and CSB.
Raceland headers fed through a custom 3" v-band stainless exhaust and vortex muffler.
Brakes pads and rotors replaced about 6K miles ago.
The body is rust free aside from some surface rust underneath and a small bit of corrosion around the passenger door key hole where someone attempted to break into the car. The are small dings and dents here and there but the paint still shines and overall the exterior is consistent with a nice daily driver. Rear plastic bumper has some larger cracks. Replacement included.
Interior includes M-tech 1 steering wheel, M-tech stitched shift boot, ZHP shift knob, Euro clock, sunroof, power windows with e36 switches, chrome trimmed gauge cluster, e46 convertible floor mats front + rear, wire cup holder, Bluetooth Pioneer head that unit matches nicely with the amber lighting, amp in trunk and Pioneer speakers. Keyless entry is installed but not working. The truck solenoid clicks but the locks do not move.
Heat works at all speeds but AC was not connected after swap. Minor whine from throw out bearing for which a replacement part will be included. It is not in immediate need.
Dad has about $8000 in this car and hopes to recover his investment. Please contact me if you are interested and I would be happy to discuss. Car will be sold with a clear NC title in his name. It is currently registered, insured and driven.
