    FS(again): 1991 BMW 318i 318ic Convertible E30 - Manual 5speed - 2 owners - SC $4200

    1991 BMW 318i 318ic Convertible E30 - Manual 5speed - 2 owners
    $4200 7/10/2015 Update
    - Approx 140k miles (dead odo) 121,983 stopped
    - White with newly installed navy blue top
    - Blue Cloth Interior
    - AM/FMCassette (original BMW radio)
    - 5 Speed Manual Transmission
    - Power windows & locks
    - Completely refreshed the cooling system, hoses, vac lines, rebuilt the injectors, new fuel lines, ect.
    - Shocks + Struts replaced 10,000 miles ago with original OEM Boge/Sachs parts.
    - Clutch has approx 50k on it
    - Tires are brand new Falkens
    - AC works. Blower motor replaced a three years ago and also converted to R-134. On super hot days it can be a bit weak.
    - All service records available back to 1992 when originally purchased with 6,000 miles on the odometer
    - Box of parts for new owner (pictures)

    History:
I purchased this E30 in July 2013 from the original owner in Columbia, SC. I've keep her as our "fun" car since then here in Greenwood, SC. I've spent many hours replacing a ton of items on the old girl. Listed below. For the history: The car was purchased as a demo vehicle from Hancock BMW in 1992 by the previous owner with 6,000 miles on it, and served as his daily driver from 1992 until 2004. I have the original sales slip from Hancock. He then titled the car over to his son in in 2009. I still keep in touch with the original owners and apparently Olin at Imports Only has serviced the car since new. I've done all my own work with a friend that owned a shop. I have over 3 inches of paper work back to 1992, not counting hundreds of pictures from my E30 projects, and documentation in Evernote of all work completed. Also with the car, box of new parts, and a 3 spoke BMW steering wheel.

    Negatives:
I've not repaired the interior cloth. The seats are worn and torn (mostly due to sun damage from top being down).
The radio works fine, but not great, the left channel likes to crackle some times. The antenna works!!
The paint still looks really good. From a few feet you don't notice a thing. But I'm picky, there are blemishes. The car has had a constant coat of wax on it since new, not a lack of maintenance. A ding was repaired by the driver's door and paint is slightly off color-wise in this area (3x 6 rectangle), but this is only noticeable up close. The passenger side quarter panel has a dent around the wheel well (shown in photo) but paint is still all present, and there is some paint chipping on the center brake light on top of the trunk (common). The trunk light and side mirrors where repainted about 8 years ago, they are common items that need attention. The odomoter stopped working at 121,844 a few years before I purchased her. Its a common issue on the MotoMeter BMW odometers in the e30's (google it). I got pretty good proof/back up to the 130k number. I'm listing at 140k miles to be safe. I only drive around town with a trip to Greenville occasionally, a trip to CLT airport last year, and one trip to Asheville in late summer.

All in all it's an incredibly fun car, drives extremely well, and is a classic E30. It's been well maintained mechanically. With the 3in of service records to prove it. Cosmetic issues are simply due to use and enjoyment over the years (it is 25 years old in October 2015!). I'm selling it because I have a Mercedes w124 300D project car as well. We have baby #2 on the way so the sedan makes more sense to keep as the older project.

The ideal buyer of this car is someone looking for a classic, fun weekend/second car and can finish the restoration process (interior). I'm happy to talk shop with a prospective buyer in terms of maintenance performed, mechanical condition, etc.

PM for more information/phone number. Serious inquiries only, please.

                Thanks we like her. :).

Just want her to be in an enthusiast household if at all possible.

                  Bump.
I've been traveling past two weeks so she's been in storage. :(

Thanks! I'm watching that epic upgrade thread of yours. Glad you're keeping one of these E30s on the road.

Bump. Might just be the final bump. *fingers crossed*. Two potential buyers making the trip this weekend.

Also bought a new convertible front seal and installing that tomorrow. Under pressure washer testing I could make the meet up point at the doors drip a few drops.

Well, no one showed this weekend.

                          Price Drop to $4500

This will be the last week she is listed. I'm almost done with the Merc w124 300D and perhaps it's a sign I should try and sell her instead.

Also, a buddy of mine had his MGB v8 backed into last week, he's going to repaint BMW Alpine White. Not often a chance comes to paint two cars in the the same color as your current car. I've also found some very nice leather hides so my E30 may stay in the family after all.

                          Thanks for the support!

                              Good luck!

I'm just assuming it's not going to sell this week. So I just bought a Fender and some door cards for the interior recovering project as spares. And another AC compressor just for kicks.

But that's not very expensive stuff. Will see, only a few more days
