**Revised 3/30 with new link to additional photos: https://flic.kr/s/aHsk9Lj9DA Also installed new BMW emblems on the custom center caps.
Hi R3V - Up for sale is my beautiful 1990 BMW E30 sedan with manual transmission. Car is in excellent condition in a fairly rare color combo - Calypso Red exterior with tan sport interior. I'm an avid e30 enthusiast and CCA member and was planning to keep this car forever and maintained it accordingly. Only reason for selling is I recently purchased an s52 swapped convertible and only have room in my garage for one e30.
Condition:
California car since new and holds a clean title. No accidents and all original body panels with VIN stickers intact.
Paint is original and in very good shape for its age with a few scratches and door dings in line with a 25 year old car. Two spots where the clear coat is starting to fail - one on the sunroof and another on the front edge of the hood. Overall though, the paint is very shiny and I get lots of compliments on it.
Interior is a 9.5 out of 10. Tan vinyl sport interior, perfect crack free dash and headliner. Every single thing on the car works as it should: power windows, locks, sunroof, mirrors, A/C (r12!), all lights, antenna, etc. Full tool kit, jack and original 14" bottle cap spare in the trunk.
Upgrades:
- Dinan sport lowering springs with custom valved Bilstein sport shocks (Rare and NLA - very nice ride but still handles great)
- Solid m3 offset lower control arm bushings, e46 convertible rear shock mounts
- e30 M3 rear sway bar and 21mm convertible front sway bar with all new bushings. Largest sizes available from the factory.
- 16x8 Rota Slipstream wheels in gunmetal with polished lip. Made specifically for e30's as part of a group buy on R3v. No spacers or centering rings needed - perfect fit! Comes with custom center caps that I made for these wheels and i'll have new roundel emblems for them shortly. Easy to clean, fits over big brake kits and you can run a 225 tire if you want to fit wide rubber.
- Matching tan vinyl sport seats out of a 318is still look almost brand new. Only a small crack on the drivers side bolster and a small crack in the seat pad. Hardly noticeable unless you look super close. See pics for reference.
- Stereo is an Alpine head unit with matching red buttons, iPod and aux-in support. New speakers in stock locations with tweeters in the front doors. Small 8' low profile sub in the trunk for a little better bass response - not crazy loud.
- 17.5lb rebuilt injectors out of an m50
- US ellipsoid projector headlamps with Silverstar halogen bulbs
- Scorpion stainless exhaust with straight exit pipes. Nice, mellow sound but sounds great when you get on it.
Recent Maintenance:
- Complete cylinder head rebuild (new stock cam, rockers, resurfaced, etc) two years and ~7K miles ago
- OEM head gasket along with all upper engine gaskets, vacuum lines replaced at the same time
- 6 new Bosch spark plugs, distributor cap/rotor when head work done. Wires are 3 years old
- All new coolant hoses, thermostat, BMW coolant.
- Timing belt, water pump, tensioner/spring replaced at same time as the head work so you're good to go for a few more years. Conti-tech timing belt and Graf water pump sourced from Guten parts.
- New heater core and control valve two years ago.
- Every suspension bushing except the rear subframe bushings have been replaced with new OEM parts.
- Brand new Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport, tire size: 205/50R16 with less than 1k miles on them
- Fresh oil and filter change
- Always passes CA smog with no problems - way below the required limits
- New battery in November 2014
- New power antenna mast in 2014 - works perfectly
- New air filter, fuel filter and all rubber fuel lines replaced in 2014
- New OEM brake lines 2 years ago (all 6 soft lines)

Items not perfect:
- Oil pan drain bolt is stripped and has been that way since I purchased the car. I’ve used the expanding rubber plugs without issue for years but the pan should be replaced to make it right.
- Rear subframe bushings are likely original are a little tired. I have replacement Lemforder bushings but haven’t gotten around to installing them yet. Car still drives fine as is.
Extras that can be included at my asking price:
- Yakima roof rack with full set of locks/keys
- Set of (4) Ronal LS 15x7.5" mesh wheels in need of refinishing. In great shape structurally, just need stripped and painted.
- Extra set of mint condition 325i front struts with Bilstein sports already installed. Was planning to use them to build a coil over setup.
- Set of 19lb, 4-pintle fuel injectors and custom burned EAT chip for 91 octane.
I'm sure there are other things i'm forgetting but check out the car in the pics (or better yet, in person) and you'll see it's been extremely well maintained. Car is located in the San Francisco Bay Area and I'm happy to arrange shipping at the buyer's expense or I can pick you up at SFO if you're not local.
Asking $7,000 obo. Please PM me with any offers or ask general questions in this forum and i'll get back to you asap. Thanks for looking!
