so im looking for a pretty specific setup but im certainly willing to fork over the cash for the right car

some requirements:

CLEAN rust free/damage free late model coupe
clean title
s52 swap but will consider s50
WORKING air condition AND heat
manual transmission
car must be a clean totally reliable swap.


I will travel anywhere for the right example and just drive the car back
if you think my requirements are too much to ask for...

Hahaha just kidding man of course not. We all started somewhere. That BAT car is clean af. I'm sure there's a shop you could bring it to for ac, or if your nice I'm sure someone on here could help you do it.

If you can't find a well executed s52 e30 conversion with the specs you're looking for, you might want to consider sending us a clean e30 318is/325/M3 for a conversion. We've built 30 of these, and have straightened out many driveway attempts.

Back in the 90's when Pete McHenry & I traded a few secrets, we figured out how to do this conversion using roughly 90% stock BMW parts. This made for a reliable and factory looking conversion. When done right, the e30 ought to be vibration free, and feel more refined than it did with the m20, s14 or m42 powerplants. We have, and can certainly, build cars that have working HVAC systems. The street cars we've built were all smog legal with diagnostic capabilities intact.

If being on the west coast is a concern, you should know that one of our early s50 conversions (euro 323i) was shipped to us from California (and shipped back), and our second M335 also originated from there. Shipping to and from is certainly possible. Or, if you like, you can do what the owner of the 2nd M335 we built did. He drove it straight back to California from New England, non-stop in 38 hours and entered one of the first BMW club races out there, taking 3rd place.:bow:

Not sure where you are in SoCal, but Independent in La Jolla put the AC into my S52 swapped car just before I bought it.
