    1991 318IS 5spd Michigan

Alright guys. Heres my 1991 318is that I have owned for a couple of years.

The reason for the sale is that I have decided to go with a 325is, and go the turbo route. I found a car and bought it. And now I need to sell this one.

    No rust.

1991 318is. The car is originally from California.
It was wrecked, around 10 or 15 years ago iirc, according to the car fax. After the wreck, showed up
in another southern state, that I cannot remember off the top of my head.
Must have been fixed there. Was titled. Etc.
It ended up in michigan some time later.
Then, the guy that owned it before me (quite an enthusiast), bought it,
and did a lot of work to it.

According to the car fax, the car had a "total loss". Given a salvage title. Etc.

Through all of the cars travels from owner to owner, it has a clean green MI title. Car fax tells me this is called "Title Washing".

I can send the car fax to any seriously interested parties.

Now onto the details of the car.

I have taken good care of this car and have honestly hardly driven it. I have probably only put about 6000 miles on it in the two years Ive had it.

230,000 miles on broken Odometer. (previous owner told me when I bought it
that it broke when he was driving it. He did not daily drive the car. But only
fixed it up with his son and auto x'd it a handful of times.)

So I estimate the mileage to be around 240-250,000

In the hands of the previous owner, the car received the following:

    Bilstein Sport Shocks.
    H&R Race springs.
Sway Bar (I think H&R but can't remember what previous owner told me)
    A/C Delete.
    Power Steering Delete.
    Maaco paint job.
Gold painted 14" Basket Weaves No curb rash.. (That I have plasti dipped white)
    Brakes
Black Plasti dipped window trim (with limited edition overspray)
Magna flow cat back. Sounds nice.

Since my ownership, I have done the Following:

New fuel pump. (this car did not need a new fuel pump. But my 318i sedan did,
so I bought a new fuel pump and put it in this car, and put the used one in
the other car, since it was not worth near as much as this one.

    New Idle Control Valve

Rebuilt rear diff. Medium case LSD out of a 325. Pinion seal went out, so I had
it rebuilt. Previous owner told me it was either a 3.73 or 3.93, but I have no
idea how to verify that. The car cruises nice at highway speeds, and does not
rev to the sky like my 318i with a 4.10 did while driving 70mph.

New inside door handles and frames
    New Sunroof crank
    Changed oils.
Redline Fluid in the rear diff.
    New Battery

Transmission shifts great. Clutch feels good as well.

The dash is cracked. Pretty badly.
The interior is worn and cracked, but its not ripped up and torn apart like a
    lot of e30s you'll see.

The carpet is dirty. Could use a good cleaning.

The basket weaves that are on the car have brand new snow tires on them.
I did not drive this car in the winter, it was stored in my garage. I previously
had 17x7 ASA AR1 wheels on this car, but when I sold my 318i, the buyer wanted
the 17s on that car. So I swapped the wheelsand tires. The 318i was my winter car.
I drove this 2 times to work and back, which is about a 10 minute drive, in
February of this year and washed it immediately afterward. Other than that,
this car has not seen salt in at least 4 years, counting my ownership, and that
of what the previous owner told me.

The underbody of the car is super clean. I will post photos of that once I
can get it on the lift.

The car could use a MAF. I took the good one off of this car in order to sell
my 318i sedan. The car runs good with this bad one. But you will feel the
occasional flat spot while accelerating. And it would also help level out the idle.
Bavarian Restoration quoted me $188.00 for a reman unit.

The sunroof works great, and does not leak.

The doors only lock some of the time. The trunk locks and unlocks reliably.

The Hood release cable is broken. You must do the screw driver trick to get it open.

The battery tray is rust free.

The front fenders, grill, headlight assembly is slightly off center.
I bought the car this way. I haven't really torn it apart to see if that
can be rectified. I did put in a new sealed beam, but thats about it.
the hood is slightly bent down on the drivers side. Looks kind of like
someone overweight sat on it. Very possibly has been this way since accident
    noted on the car fax.
You can see what Im talking about in the pictures.

The front drivers fender is not original. Its one of those cheap ones
where the bottom front under the headlight doesn't quite line up perfectly.

The antenna is held in with some black silicon and its kind of ugly.
I always intended to just take it out and put a cap in its place.

The trunk bracket on the inside is slightly cracked, causing the front drivers
side of the trunk to sag a little bit.

The gas door has a paint chip on it.

The bottom of the rear bumper on the passenger side has a dent. But its
kind of hard to notice because its in the black portion of the bumper.

The previous owner gave me a folder full of records and receipts dating back
10 or 15 years, of which I lost. I have looked high and low and cannot seem
to come up with it. :(

In all honesty, If i was going to keep this car, I would probably put a new timing
chain, water pump and tstat in it. Its getting up there in miles. You just never
know the state of things after 25 years of life on the road.
The previous owner did a lot of work to the motor to freshen it up, but without
the folder of receipts, I have no idea what was done. I should have kept the
for sale ad and everything else. But in my first e30, the excitement overtook
my mind and body, and I did not do those things.

The heat gauge jumps a little bit, but with a tap on the dash, it will stop. On hot
summer days, the needle goes about 1 needles width past center on the heat
guage. That is one of the reasons I would do the tstat.

The car has always started and drove and been very reliable on the short trips
and small amount of miles I have put on it.

You guys are enthusiasts, so Im sure most all of you know what you're looking at here.

I have divulged as much information as I have written down, and as much as I
    can think of.

I have had a lot of craigslist tire kickers, but nobody that has come though with
    the money.

I am asking $3900.00 Firm for the car. I would like to get more out of it, but I am
ready to move on. Get it out of the driveway and get the car to another enthusiast
who can drive it and enjoy it or put a big motor in it or whatever.

I am not really interested in trades unless its a really clean e28, or an e46 manual rust free wagon. And I shouldn't even say that. But some cars are hard to refuse.

If someone were interested in different wheels. I have a set of:
Enkei 5+ 16 inch wheels not sure of offset at the moment
with 215/40R16 tires. They have some decent tread left.
They're ugly, and you'd have to
convert to wheel studs. I have an almost full set. I got them on the other
e30 that I had. I will include these for free if someone wants them.

If you would be interested in getting the car with some XXR 527 wheels 17x8.25
not sure of offset. 235 tires. They're on my 325is right now. Id sell them with the car
for $4600 They're painted orange. I dipped them flat gray because I
felt like a Honda boy with the orange and I will not be buying new wheels until
the turbo build is done with on that car. No offense to the Honda boys. Id
own an s2000 in a heartbeat.
The tires only have a couple thousand miles on them.
I did fit one to the front of the red coupe, and snapped a pic, just to see if they'd
rub. You'll also have to convert to studs if you want these wheels.

I have some taurus side skirts that I could throw in also. Ive never had them
mounted to any of my cars. Came with my 325is.

If you have any questions, please PM me.

I will upload photos here. and also post a link to dropbox photos
where you can see the highest quality possible photos to really see the car good.

If photos do not work off that bat I will work on it.

Doesn't look like you read the ad. I made a note of this. Hood is bent down on the corner and fender is aftermarket.

Not sure. Dropbox works, but the pics from the thread do not load.
