1988 BMW 325iX
Mileage: 209,013
Coupe
5 Speed Manual
Location: Wilmington, OH
Price: $5500 OBO

I have owned the car since 2009 and has been treated as my classic car meaning I only put ~1000 miles/year on the car. I am currently driving it to and from work daily so the mileage will be going up approximately 50 miles/day. The engine runs smooth and has plenty of power. The clutch does not slip and the transmission shifts very smoothly into every gear. The transfer case was swapped for one with a working VC and easily passes the jack test. The timing belt, tensioner, water pump, spark plugs, brakes, rotors, soft brake lines, intake manifold gasket, idle air controller, rear wheel bearings and CV boots were replaced in 2009 immediately after purchasing the car. The cooling system has been flushed and the hoses replaced as well. More recently the exhaust was replaced with a Scorpion stainless steel system, battery replaced in summer 2014, driver’s side lock replaced and all 4 tires were replaced in December 2014. The car has an aftermarket stereo, speakers, and amplifier installed by the previous owner. Other than the head unit and amplifer mounted to the back of the rear seat, you cannot tell anything is different. The car does not leak (no spots in the garage) and always starts. The interior is not perfect but not terrible. The dash is not cracked and the carpet cleans up nicely. The main reason I am selling is that I do not drive it enough and I hate to see a car sit. It is a blast to drive and I get compliments on it whenever I take it out.
The bad:
- Spot of rust (quarter size) passenger side rear wheel well
- Spare tire jack area rusted. Not visible from outside but is rusted through at the bottom of the well. Sides of well appear solid
- AC does not work. Compressor still works but has never blown cold air
- ABS light comes on after driving. Replaced drivers' front sensor but light still on. Based on help from this site I think it is one of the rear sensors
Parts that can go with it:
- Spare transfer case. VC does not work and case needs a rear seal but I ran this case for a few years before swapping it out.
- Spare rear taillight
- Extra CV boots and grease
- Haynes manual
- Extra power antenna
If anyone wants more pictures or pictures of specific pieces just let me know. I have lurked on this site for years and it saddens me that I finally made an account only to sell the car.
