    1991 Mtech 2 Alpine White 159k

    SOLD

Hey guys, sadly the day seems to be coming near, I hope it goes to a good home. Up for sale your looking at a Genuine Factory Mtech 2 Convertible. A Mtech 2 Convertible is actually a pretty rare/ uncommon car. Please, If you’ve never heard of them take a minute to do a quick Google search. There’s said to be a little under 3,000 ever built, and over the years I’m sure that numbers decreased. I actually ran across a paper that claims BMW offered only 1,170 of these cars in Alpine White. I looked over 2 years to find the perfect Mtech 2, its in great condition, a true survivor! This car has been enthusiast owned, and maintained since purchase. I bought the car off the original owner, who put on only 155,XXX miles in the 20+ years of ownership. The car was purchased in the East Bay, at SONNEN BMW, where it lived its whole life. Since then, I’ve put in $1000’s of dollars of maintenance into the car. The car now has 159,XXX, there’s maybe only 1400 miles on all the brand new parts installed total.
I bought this car with the intentions of having a rare, solid built weekend driver, and that’s exactly how I built it. Just took it to Bimmerfest this year!

$9,000 with Hardtop and Hardtop Stand. I'm selling the car for only one reason, to buy an old 2002. I really really wish I had the space to keep this car, I can honestly say this is hands down in the top three most solid e30's I've driven. Burned absolutely no oil (didn't need to top off) on the drive to, or back from LA. That being said, I didn't loose any fluid period. The LA weekend for Bimmerfest added just a tad bit over 1,000 miles.

    Engine/ fluids and Steering
    -New Engine and trany mounts
    -Scrubbed from dirt and grime
    -Oil Cooler
-Fluids flushed and serviced: Break Fluid, Coolant, Tranny, Power Steering

    -New Differential Fluid
-Rebuild power steering rack (resealed) with new tie rods
-New Timing belt, Water Pump, Tensioner

-New Lower Control Arms with lollypops
-"Brand New" tires; under 1200 miles on them (tires for OEM white basketweaves)
-Euroweave (15 inch basketweaves) can be included, however OEM factory white basket weaves are what come with car.
-OEM BMW roundels (on wheels and whole car for that matter)

    Body and Interior
-“Crack Free” Dash (slight damage above glove box, 2 inch crack in dash)
    -ALL rip free seats
    -OEM BMW HardTop (~$1,500 value)

    -Hard Top Stand
    -Hard Top Cover
    -Crack free OEM fog lights

-ONE key opens all, spare included (all 3 original keys included)
    -Power-Manual Top
-All Interior bulbs work, Including the HVAC Panel
-Fully working and lighting 13 Button OBC

Other Info (Last list was getting long)

    -Heated seats all work
-The power antenna works, however does not fully go up (removed fuse so motor doesn’t burn out). It needs a new antenna mast ($30 and simple enough to replace)
-Windshield has no chips, however there’s a scratch from the windshield wiper (EDIT: A BMW on the drive to Bimmerfest flew a rock up and chipped the windshield on the passenger side.
-The soft top does NOT have any patch’s, however the back window is in need of replacement (EDIT: A new window has been stitched in!)
-The back seat has a patch, the back seat is a bit lighter shade of black then the fronts.
-Drips 1 drop of oil every couple days
    -Cruse Control Works
    -1.5 year old battery
    -All Windows work
    -Plenty of Break Pad left
    -4.10 Open Diff
    -Complete Trunk Tool Kit
-Brand New (never mounted) Spare basketweave wheel (OEM WHITE)

Appreciate the kind words! The car is pending sale, waiting on the deposit which I should have by tomorrow. Should be going to a loving home which actually was in the market for an Automatic convertible.

The new owner picked up the car an hour ago and is on his way back driving down south. I'm not ashamed to say this, I literally had a couple tears come down my cheek when he drove down to street and made a left turn.. I really hope I left this car in good hands that will continue to cherish it. Not only that, but I hope I made the right decision selling it.

Thanks everyone for your interest, especially the few out of state buyers.

Not jumping your FS thread but you got any info on where you purchased the hard top stand? Is it OEM? Ebay? I need one baaaaaad. Thanks in advance for the information.

                    G.

No worries. I actually bought it used on Craigslist but it looked really similar to a Ebay version.

I hope to find a good restore candidate, or already restored 2002Tii. If not that, there's two e30 M3's "rotting away" in my neighborhood, one owner wanted a pretty high price but it's cheaper then any I've seen posted here.

Still though, I'm really bummed I had to sell this. I suppose I didn't have to, but at the same time I did to make space for more future car purchases. This one was basically finished and I guess I get bored being at home on the weekends not having a project to work on. This way I have the space and money for a new project, but I'm just looking at the bright side of things, I teared up pretty bad on this one. I just hope to see it around at future Bimmerfest's as this car will always have a place in my heart. Who knows, maybe I'll buy it back someday.

Man I hate to see you sell this! Your probably don't care but for 3500 there is a 2002 local-ish to me that's been stripped and everything for a resto guy has all the parts and motor just hasn't don't the work. He even has floor pans to replace.
