SOLD!
Hello R3V,
I'm posting this up for my friend, but I will be able to answer any questions about the car as I'm the one who helped build it over the years. Here is the information on the car:
ASKING $5400
LOCATED IN SAN MATEO, CA:
"Up for sale is a triple black 1993 BMW e30 325i convertible with an m50 swap from a 1995 525i. The chassis has 148k, and the motor has 151k. This is the last year of the stateside e30, and has been a California and Arizona car its whole life. I believe I'm the fifth owner, with the first two being a man and his daughter, and the one before me was a gentleman who owned the car for 10 years before I purchased it. The swap is BAR'd, so it is SMOG LEGAL, meaning the next owner can go to a smog station and smog the car without issue. Here is a breakdown of all the work I've put into this car in the 3 years I've owned it:
Drivetrain/Engine:
- E34 525i m50tu (150K) refreshed with new coolant and vacuum hoses, coilpacks, crank sensor, oil pan gasket, rear main seal, water pump, thermostat, etc.
- 1993 325is manual wiring harness, 413 red label ecu, and wiring harness adapter built by Nando on R3V
- G260 trans with machined m20 flywheel, Sachs OEM clutch kit, UUC "twisted" DSSR, and e60 545 short shifter
- Condor Speed Shop 24v swap motor mounts
- 3.73 LSD
- New radiator with e36 euro Diesel fan/clutch setup
- E21 brake booster from Zionsville Autosport
- SMOG legal exhaust with new CA catalytic converters, mated to an e30 Supersprint muffler
Suspension:
- Bilstein Sports with H&R cabrio sport springs
- E36 steering rack conversion bought from Rack Doctor with AKG rack spacers
- Ate brake rotors and Textar pads at all four corners.
Interior:
- Crack free dash
- weighted knob
- 2 year old Convertible Top with new front seal and tension straps (rear window is still clear as the top was stored when I had the hardtop on it for the last few years)
Exterior:
- Euro Smiley Headlights
- Euro bumper side marker delete trim
- Extra Schwarz trunk with iS decklid spoiler included
This is a 22 year old car, so it is by no means perfect. The black interior was reupholstered in vinyl a few years before I bought it, and the sun has cracked the driver's seat and the rear bench. The lower dash trim, knee bolster area, and OBC need to be reinstalled, but I never got around to it. The sound system could use an upgrade as well.
The oil level sensor does not work on the check panel as it was not built into the wiring harness adapter. The oil pan gasket needs to be changed again as oil is still seeping from the pan (confirmed by E-Car Garage in Palo Alto).
This has been a fun car to drive and modify, however I want to move on to something track ready, so the convertible has to be sold.
With a weekend or two of work, the e30 would be a fun daily driver or weekend cruiser for someone that wants the updated mechanical reliability and better gas mileage of an e36 (no timing belt or valve adjustments!). Included will be other spare odds and ends I've acquired over the years.
I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting, but if you have any questions, feel free to give me a call. I no longer have time to work on the car anymore, so I would like $5400 for the car as is.
Ideally looking for a local/CA sale."
Below are a few pics (car will come with bottle caps, not Alpinas).
Thanks for your time,
Joey
