    Wanted E30 M3

    Hi Guys.

I'm after an E30 M3. I need one that has a build date no higher than December 1988.

Let me know what you have.

    Cheers.

What is your budget? I have a DS/Grey 2.5L stroker S14 with pop-out windows. The car needs some rust repair around the windsheild seals and license plate area. I have two M3's at the moment and I am looking to clear up some garage space with this DS for $20k. The car is not advertised and I have 1 offer pending PPI.

Only thing I can think of is the possible new style air box? I thought that was an upgrade however.

He wants to import it into Australia. Rules are you cannot bring a car in unless it was made before Jan 1989.

The only exceptions are personal imports, which mean you need to own the car for a year in another country while living there. Or if it is a vehicle on a list of rare cars that there is no local dealer network, like Corvettes etc.

Thought that rule was going away? sorry off topic but since Australia really doesn't have an auto industry that Tariff was ending about the RHD thing.

OP if you haven't I would search s14.net

There could be some changes coming up about importing cars younger than 1989, more like the NZ grey import scheme however there is no discussion on making LHD cars legal underr the 30yrs of age bracket.

I do know of a couple of guys in Aus waiting till their M3's hit 30 yrs of age so they can then register them LHD, but to be honest if you are driving one of these on the road with enthusiasm LHD would be a bit scary. Overtaking, reverse parking, passenger getting freaked out etc all affect the experience.

I have driven LHD cars in Aus and it is not the best feeling.

Hi Guys. Still looking for an E30 M3. Anything considered and will buy the right car.

Yes it is because here in Australia we cannot import cars built 1989 onward unless they are on a specific list.
