Asking $35k
I've been contemplating selling my M3 for a while now and will only be considering said sale if it is actually worth it for me to sell. I'm at a point in my life where I may be moving so the money would be needed if I did so.
I purchased the car June 2012 from CA and have just recently went through a rebuild of the original S14. The M3 currently has ~204k (which is going up) and ~4k on the rebuild itself. This car has lived in CA and FL ONLY.
Currently on vogtland springs and bilstein sports. Powder coating on valve cover and plenum done by Dave from Renewed Finishes.
The only modifications I can think of are the radiator is now a 3 core aluminum one, the steering wheel is now mtech 1, and no cat otherwise stock exhaust. Some of the pictures may show style 4's but the car will come with stock E34 basketweaves.
Some things replaced in the 3 years I've owned it (which I can think of):
driveshaft, guibo, csb, plug wires, distributor, rotor, coil, belts, thermostat, oil pan baffle, windage tray, stock sachs clutch/pressure plate, resurfaced flywheel, silicone coolant hoses, water pump... for the rebuild I chose to keep the stock pistons, and connecting rods. everything else is new along with a 3 angle valve job and seats/seals. Just did the valve adjustment as well after the rebuild.
PO also had the interior redone in the original gray but then decided to dye everything black. Front seats are very soft and feel great, rear feels original but not bad. The rear has stitching coming out by the leg/center area, not noticeable unless you actually pulled it apart.
Things that need attention: small bits of surface rust where wheels from the PO rubbed the front fenders, a spot here or there on the sunroof, absolutely NO ROT ANYWHERE. Diff has a small leak, PO helicoiled the oilpan plug so there is a drop maybe one time a drive, nothing serious, I'd get the AFM refurbished from bavarian restoration, has a small hiccup when cold, a small rev makes it go away then the car drives normal. ((Recently fixed: spoiler has paint cracking along with the side mirrors have pitting, planned on fixing this before the sale with a professional painter buddy of mine)). Dash has 1 small crack by the glove box but otherwise clean.
I apologize this isn't as thorough of an ad as I'd like it to be.
With my research I've come to the conclusion the car should be worth around $35k therefore I will only be entertaining offers near that number. I understand this may be considered high but I've seen several M3's in person and mine fits somewhere between an immaculate <100k mileage M3 at $40-$60k and a $20k car with rust, modified, and missing parts.
I'm trying to see what the market is like hence the feeler but I am prepared to sell if the price is right. If the car is worth less than $35k the market will tell me. I'm only selling if it's worth it for me.
