SOLD 8/19/15
Hi guys, I'm putting my spring/summer/fall daily driver up for sale. Price is $10,000 firm. I have no need to sell it. I usually buy a winter beater and keep this somewhere... This year I'm down to one parking spot and beginning to think about what I'm going to do. If i get $10k I'll sell it, if not she stays for now, maybe come Novemberish I'll be willing to lower the price if I don't have a different solution.
With that said, some info: 1989 325i sedan. 140k miles on body, 90k on swap. Zinnoberrot red. All original VIN tags, one repaint by previous owner. It's not the best paint job in the world. Certainly not maaco quality, but if you're as discerning as me you'll find some flaws. A lot of people don't. A lot of people think its near perfect, I get compliments on the car all the time, and offers to buy it all the time, but I've never taken anyone up on that. It's pretty much a daily driver in nice weather, so there have been some rock chips on the front end touched up. Has one little bubble starting to show on the sunroof which is a common spot, couldn't really even get it to show up in a picture, but theres a close up of it in the album. Also looks like it had a rust repair at rear of battery box, everywhere else is nice and clean, no rust.
Previous owner is also the one who did the swap (or actually had it done at a shop) So I can't tell you that much about it besides what I was told. It's from a 99 m3 and had something only like 70k when pulled back in the mid 2000's. Matching zf 5 speed trans. After the paint/swap was done the car didn't get a lot of mileage put on by the previous owner as he had many cars. So today the total is about 90k on the swap.
I've done a lot of maintenance/mods on it over the last year and a half or so. All fluids, z3 steering rack, cooling system, o2 sensor, injectors, spark plugs, rear wheel bearings, clutch master and slave cylinders, all euro parts, z3 antenna, wheels/tires, front lower control arms, 4 wheel alignment, many interior parts to freshen it up including the carpet, any little plastic pieces missing, even things like getting a new fusebox cover and sourcing the trunk tool kit which was missing, probably more that I'm forgetting as well. It used to have quite a big stereo system which I've removed most of. Still has some large speakers in the rear decklid. The front center console had tweeters mounted in it, so that was another piece I replaced to get rid of them. It wasn't a 100% perfect car when I bought it, and I've been slowly trying to bring it to that. I still wouldn't say its there yet, but quite close, and quite a fun/capable daily driver at this point, and just about everything works. The only thing it doesn't retain is cruise control. Has r134 converted A/C.
