Hello,
I picked this up a couple weeks ago in order to take the alpina front valance. I was planning on parting the rest of the car to make my money back on it.
My vert project kind of hit a rough patch this past weekend - tree branch fell and put a hole in my hardtop, and the top center transmission bolt stripped out while removing the auto transmission. So, with that, looks like I'll be much busier than expected and I do not see myself parting this car anytime soon.
So the car:
1985 318i
5 speed
~75k miles on odo (stopped), less than 100k on the car
US Spec German delivery vehicle (Original owner was in the military)
All paperwork since new, including the repairs done in Germany
Engine runs great - whole drive train seems to be great
Alpina Type 137 front valance
Zender side skirts
Zender? rear valance - yet to confirm authenticity
a few trouble spots were cleaned up and por15'd
No ABS
No Power steering
I have the full interior aside from original carpet
Cons:
drives not so great - needs suspension & steering work
Seats are in rough shape, front & back
needs some patching
dent in driver side fender
door has a nasty scrape
dash is cracked
no carpet - but I will include a full tan carpet
I drove the car home when I picked it up (50 miles), but I wouldn't recommend driving it too far. Part it and get yourself some free rare parts, or fix it up and run it. Pay asking price and I'll throw in a full tan carpet and a better dash (couple small cracks). This thing would make a wonderful track car, and if you sell off the alpina/zender stuff you should have an almost free car to start with.
Sold
Lot's of items available to go with the car (for additional cost - package deal prices, of course). ie. 51mm strut housings, corbeau a4 seats, basketweaves, full five lug swap, tan door cards, Fk rear springs, etc.
Cheers,
Guddy
