I intended to sort this E30 as a fun driver but realize I don't have the time and I really don't need another car in the driveway. I've owned several e30s and know a good bit about them. I bought this one about a year ago because it is complete, unmolested, low mileage and almost rust free. since I've owned it I've done the following:
New rotors and pads
New fluids (diff, trans, engine oil)
New shifter bushings
Used replacement exhaust and O2 sensor
Very nice black leather sport seats (front and rear with pass through) and interior refresh
It needs:
Front left wheel bearing
A couple of vacuum hoses (idles a bit rough until warm)
Paint
Shocks (will include a lightly used set of Bilstein HD if asking price is paid)
Front plastic bumper cover
The interior is excellent. The dash and console are crack free and look new. All leather is very good with no rips or tears. The door panels are excellent. The carpet is original but in good condition with some minor spots. It does have two tears in the headliner in the rear but that is really the only significant flaw inside. The trunk is also clean and the toolkit is complete.
The paint is faded, most significantly on the trunk lid and pass side panels. As you can see in the pictures it looks pretty good from about 10 feet. I planned on painting it but not until everything else was sorted. The only significant rust is under the rear battery tray. There are scratches and nicks but the car is straight requiring only minor work prior to painting. The front bumper is broken but all trim and lenses are good.
The engine bay is clean and basically untouched from original. It has 146k miles with a working odometer. As I mentioned, it needs a couple of vacuum hoses as it appears a few cracked ones are original. ICV could probably also use a cleaning. It is very solid mechanically.
This is a great entry level e30 IS Coupe. It can be driven while you sort. There aren't many left in this price range that are this original and complete. Although I don't have to sell, it doesn't make sense for me to hang on to it. I have a few other cars and not enough time to enjoy or work on them all. Please feel free to come take a look and make an offer. I will likely sell it to the person with the highest offer before winter arrives.
Please refer to my CL ad for pictures.
