Yep, I think a 540i and a 318i will be enough for me. I can always import another touring should I get the itch, but I'd rather get a Peugeot 205.

I can also now appreciate the fun that is M60 power! Hope your car is still going strong.

I'm interested in the m20 touring... was really looking for a bronzit 87 is but that touring might fit the bill.
PM replied, isn't there an '87 in bronzit for sale on r3v right now? Lots of interest in the 320i at the moment.

I might be blind I'll take another look but if you can link it ill click it.

As for you AFM issue, BMWfans shows 2 different sections for AFM for your exact car. Not sure why they have the 2 different styles but one is europe only and the other is available in eta cars in the US. IF it's the latter, you may have an easy solution on your hands.

All links to the complete album for each car are at the bottom of each section.

Apparently any 528e AFM will also work, so it will be much easier to source a replacement.

Come check it out anytime, I'm over on the east side. I'm in a minor stage of interior disassembly, but still looks good.

320i is sold! Headed to NY.

Only the TD left of all of the wagons, and it looks like it's going to CA, but nothing final yet.

Thinking of fixing the rust on the 2002 and repainting it.

For anyone that has a passing interest in the SVT Contour it's a pretty neat car, come down and take it for a test drive!

Any additional info on registering and smogging the TD in CA?

I don't live, nor have I ever lived in CA. However, I did read that pre-1998 diesel passenger cars are exempt from emissions checks. If that entails no inspections of any kind they you are golden to register the car in CA. Otherwise the car would have to be tested and made (if required) to come in to compliance with CA standards.

Therefore, I'd suggest that all CA residents move elsewhere, and then you may drive pretty much whatever you want with almost any modifications or alterations you wish.

ha ha, good solution. I'm trying to find out. The issue is also it was never sold in the US that way and they hate grey market items here... they may cause cancer

I know, heaven forbid CA allow small/light cars with smaller, more efficient engines to be registered with ease. Muscle car with no smog controls, no problem.

If I lived in CA I'd be very tempted ride an old two-stroke Yamaha, and would likely want to drive anything American (pre-1975) with at least 500cid.

It's not like I hate the environment, in fact it's quite the opposite (driving old cars is super green, right?). It's rather that I do not appreciate bullshit, half-assed, nonsensical, faux-tree-hugger regulations and will do my best to flaunt them whenever possible.

And on that note, do let us know what you discover.

well, I've got "plans", just need the right circumstances... I hope to have an answer tomorrow if I can get through to someone who actually knows something.

Didn't get a chance to wrap the 324td timing belt project over the weekend. If weather permits I'll take a half day this week and do so.
