I purchased this car a few months ago with the intention of fully restoring it but I do not have the time anymore, so I have decided to sell it.
History:
This car was not involved in any collisions according to the CarFax report and the story by the previous owner, but I realize that some may take that all with a grain of salt so here's what I did:
- Fully Rebuilt 1993 M42B18 engine with less 95,000 miles
- Brand new tires with more than 90% of tread left
- Brand new alternator
- Brand new belts and cooling hoses
- Brand new 5-speed manual transmission, with mounts and bushings
- Brand new door lock mechanism on the driver's side (typically failure point)
- Brand new coolant temperature gauge (also known to fail)
- Brand new weighted ZHP shift knob and Dakota Leather shift boot
- Brand new Alpinweiß II paint job (performed less than 6 months ago)
- Brand new ICV (Idle Control Valve)
- Brand new clutch and flywheel
- Manual top conversion
- Brand new catalytic converter
Issues:
- Needs a bit of bodywork done to the exterior
- Interior is NOT in mint condition, but they work for what they are
- PO's single-din head unit fails on occasion, but it works after a bit of driving
- Air conditioning blows slightly cold, but other aspects of the HVAC do work.
- The tachometer will work after hitting the instrument cluster a few times
- The exhaust mounts will rattle on occasion if running over speed bumps
Overall, I believe this car would make a great daily driver. I used it exclusively for my drives from school and home, so it only did highway miles in my ownership with some irregular city-driving.
The car currently has 106337 miles as of yesterday when the odometer went out.
Please do not hesitate to ask for more information or pictures.
NOTE:
I have a few new parts I will include for $300 in addition to the price of the car.
Passed smog in Texas and is registered until September 2016.
