Automatic Trans
it has ~150k miles. this car is extremely reliable - i drive it 100 miles/day to and from work. i am only selling because i have become interested in some other projects. please find the below listing of all that i know about the car:
~20k miles ago:
new timing belt with tensioners
new H&R convertible specific lowering springs
new kyb shocks
new spring seats
e90 spring hats
new wheel bearings front and rear
driveshaft carrier bearing
new brakes and rotors
new driveshaft coupler (guibo)
new convertible top tonneau cover shocks (so it stays up on its own)
new control arms
new control arm bushings ('95 e36m3)
new rear subframe bushings
new driveshaft bushings
new trans mount bushings
new engine bushings
new tie rods
15x8" wheels (xxr 20mm offset) with KUMHO acs tires - NEW TIRES WERE INSTALLED 2 weeks ago. only 200-300 miles on the set
current:
new plugs (last week - NGK's)
brand new e36 (1995 m3 bushings - the centered ones - 3 wks. ago)
valve adjustment - 1 wk. ago with current oil change. with new valve cover gasket
i had become a little weary of the 25 yr. old threads in the aluminum oil pan, so i tapped the hole to accept the larger 14mm mini drain plug and installed this a few weeks ago. should be good for another 25 yrs.
i run rotellaT 15w40 in late fall/winter/early spring and 20w50 in the late spring/summer/early fall
tucked front bumper
the interior of this car is really nice. it must have been redone a few years ago. it is navy blue leather with NO ripping.
there is one crack in the dash, passenger side, right above the glove box door.
WORKING gauge cluster - the odometer was replace by the previous owner due to non functioning. there is a sticker in the glove box showing previous mileage at the time of the change. this change co-insides with all other data and overall condition of the car, so i believe it.
this car handles very well! great highway car
i am a maintenance nut.. i have brought this car up to current handling and reliability standards.
it still does 2 things which i have not yet figured out. it has done it since i have purchased the car. there is a "clunk" when slowing down at around 20-30 mph. it does not seem to come from the transmission.. maybe there is a little play in one of the drive shafts? i am not sure, but it has never had any reliability or performance issues thus far. i have put about 20-30k miles on this car this way.
secondly, sometimes (not always) it takes 2-3 seconds longer to crank/start when barely warm.. like when starting it 4 hours from driving it last. it has always started, never let me down, just takes a little longer under this certain condition for some reason.
when i purchased the car, the dent already existed in the door and there is a wave or two in the rear quarter panel on the drivers side (as seen in the pictures).
this car is being sold AS IS - but i can include a spare convertible door that i had acquired (just needs to be color matched).
price dropped - come get it!
selling as is. if you are interested, please come see it. i will not negotiate over the phone. clean title in hand
