    Wanted 1985 to 1991 e30

I would love to own an e30 and am looking for the right one.

    I'm looking for a 325, or 325i.
Id be willing to compromise on 2 door vs 4 door, manual vs automatic for a car in the right condition.

Around 100,000 miles on the odometer is a plus, and ideally not looking for a project car, but something I can drive regularly from the time I get it.

I'm in the NYC area but willing to travel, any leads would be great!

    --------EDIT---------

To narrow the search I'm looking for an 86-89, hard top, manual, in black or red.

I stopped over here to see what might be sale for you and see you beat me to it. Not sure what if anything strikes your fancy. A number of these cars look good but they are pricy. Having bought 4 E-30's perhaps a few tips. Don't get hung up on mileage. These cars are 25 years old and not five years old. Odometers on these cars are often faulty and you're really limiting yourself trying to find one with less than 100,000 miles. Save for the engine almost all of the car should have been replaced by now. If a car runs and drives well and has no known issues buy it even it has 300,000 miles on it. I don't care what the seller tells you, any shake, rattle, hesitation, clunk you experience during a test drive will cost hundreds to repair. Try to buy from an enthusiast who's in love with his near perfect car and will shed a tear when the car you buy leaves his drive way. Be patient.

Thanks Good Livin, that might be a little out of my price range for now.

Good advice Jim! I am definitely finding hard to be patient, especially when I find something that sounds like a deal... I'm currently negotiating with a seller on a 1986 325 with only 87k miles on it, but needs about 2k of work to fix a shake in the wheel and poor acceleration. In some aspects it seems like he did baby his car (original owner, has a huge binder filled with receipts for work done), but other things he may have let slide too long. It was also in an accident, but no work needed on the engine. The longer I wait, it feels like the more scarce these are...
