For Sale or Trade: 1989 BMW 325i Convertible.

    Hi guy's,

I'm placing my 1989 325i convertible, red on tan, 5spd manual, up for sale or trade.

Trades will be considered for a Z3, 4 cylinder, 5spd manual.

The car is located in El Paso, TX.

Here's the little write-up from the ad:

    Mileage: 173,xxx.

This is a very, very nice example of the legendary E30 BMW. This car has recently had over $3,000.00 in TLC put into it, and it shows. The car has absolutely nothing wrong with it in it's current state. It drives great, handles tight, brakes well, passes all safety and smog inspections, etc. New OEM Sachs rear shocks, new tires, relatively new convertible top, new flex disc (guibo), new oil control valve, new selector shaft seal, new left rear wheel bearing, BMW Dealership wheel alignment (tracks as straight as an arrow), new windshield, new OEM-spec exhaust, new convertible release handle, transmission fluid change, differential fluid change, new hood shock, new convertible boot lid shocks, new trunk lid shocks, and many other bits and pieces to bring the car to a beautiful presentation of the classic E30.

    Dinan performance chip installed!

    No accidents.

***ALL VIN tags are present on every single body panel and ALL VIN tags match.***

The paint is fair, considering the car is nearly 30 years old. I would personally rate it at a 6/10. It is certainly not perfect, but it is certainly in good enough shape to still turn heads and have a car that you're proud to show off. The most wear in the paint is on the front end were it has some road rash through the years.

The interior is an 8/10. The drivers side bolster has a tear in it, and the top, middle portion of the rear bench is splitting (a common wear area on the E30 leather seats).

The car will also come with a brand new water pump and a brand new fan clutch (both are not installed), which I purchased for preventative maintenance as these are regular wear areas of the M20 engine.

This is a very pretty 325i convertible. One that is a true testament to the longevity and reliability of BMW, and one that you can throw the top back on weekends, fly around the country side, and also trust to get you to work and back every day as a daily driver, if you so wish to have it as that.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me! Let's talk!

This baby runs like a champ that has half the mileage.

    Price: $6,500.00

At your price point there are a lot of REALLY clean verts out there. Not trying to rain on your parade or anything, but you may want to do a little research about what these cars are worth if you are interested in serious buyers. Either way, GLWS

I understand where you are coming from.

I did do research and that's how I came to the price. I believe this is a really clean convertible, with the small exception of the drivers seat, which can be easily repaired or replaced. Far better than many, many other E30's that I've seen. And E30 prices seem to be all over the map now day's. It's really difficult to gauge a market price. Also, this car has recently had $3,000.00 dollars put into repairs, preventative maintenance, and general TLC - something few E30 owners are willing to do due to the age of the cars.

Obviously, all things in this world are negotiable. $8,000.00 is what it's listed for, however, I'm not the emotional seller that becomes personally offended by offers. I'm open for all conversation. Let's see what happens! :)

Let me know how easy it is to replace that side bolster. The verts in natur are very specific. Tough to find a good condition, even passenger, one for the swap. Even then, color matching is difficult.

What has been said, I agree.

Where is the $3,000 thrown into it shown? or not shown? Headwork? New exhaust? Rebuilt trans?

I am in the market for a red e30 convertible so when I saw yours I thought it may have been a good fit.

...then I saw the price. With the mileage, wrecked interior, and metal bumpers this car is worth $4500 max.

At $8k, your car better have a s50/s52...which is what I am honestly looking for.

Well if you're looking for a vert I think all of them originally came out with chrome bumpers (or so ive heard, I may still be wrong).. Hard to cut it down for that

Edit: 8k is a lot though.. Max I would've thought 5 maybe, around kwoodwo's opinion
