Hey all. I just picked up a 325is 89' Red w/ Black leather interior on an impulse buy. I already own 4 cars so this one is just going to be taking up room. I actually have an agreement with my good friend that he is going to buy the car off of me once he can sell his current daily driver. This is not written in stone however so that is the reason why I am listing it as a Feeler.
The car is mainly stock from what I can tell. The motor still runs very well however there are some issue with the tranny. It makes clunking sounds in 1st and 2nd gear and in low MPH and seems to taper off in the upper gears. I have been told it might be flexdisc, center bearing and worst is the U-joint. I really don't know as I haven't gotten a chance to look under the car. I can tell you that the tranny is still solid (gears are all good, no grinding) and the worst case would be a new driveshaft. Also as I was driving the car back to my house, the master seems to have been blown. There is a small leak it seems somewhere in the mid-pipe area. The clutch fan also seems to be making a lot of noise.
The exterior of the car is not in the best shape however there is no body damage or rust rot. There is a bit of surface rust on the roof however its not bad at all and can be sanded down and repainted. The chasis is basically in great condition other than for the paint.
The interior actually doesn't look that bad. There is wear on the seats however no rips or tears in the leather. Everything else looks pretty good, I think the driver's side window switch has gone out.
Again I am not in a hurry to sell the car which means I am pretty firm on my price however I would like to throw the idea out there for anyone. The car is a awesome project car for any motor swaps or can easily be brought back to great running condition with mild maintenance.
Sorry I do not have any pics but anyone is welcome to come check out the car. If no one decides to pick this up from me it will probably go to my friend or I'll just keep it as next year's project.
