The mileage at 285.000 is nothing on this car. Its like 100.000 miles on a gas car lol. GLWS These cars are built like panzer tanks.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Wow. Super nice one you got. My 83 300SD is not pretty but I love to drive it. At only 211,xxx miles, the motor is just waking up.
Nice car. Good luck with the sale. You should get every penny. I've seen this condition car with twice the mileage go for more!!
Did you service the oil cooler lines? The only real Achilles heel on them...Comment

mer benz
I was thinking the same thing. Those are tanks, very solid when running right. The most "solid" car I ever drove, like my 1974 2002.

What is the rust like? Seems these things will let the driver's seat fall through the pan before the motor needs much attention...Comment

This car has been garage kept all its life so the rust situation is actually pretty darn good. The only real concern are the tubular jacking points in the rockers at the front of the car. Both sides are showing some corrosion, the driver's side more than the passenger side. It is entirely confined to the rocker in the immediate vicinity of the jacking point on both sides. The jacking points are internally reinforced so it doesn't affect the ability to service the car.
A repair could be effected by anyone competent with a welder and less than 6 square inches of material if someone wanted this thing to be the most perfect 300D they could make without a real restoration. Personally I would feel comfortable driving it as is for another 5 years before even thinking twice about it, but the fact that someone may eventually want to repair those spots is considered in the asking price.Comment
