M30 swapped E30 touring for import - not mine

I'm not ready to pull the trigger on my eventual plan to import a touring, but I did come across this ad, which seems like a great car for a R3Ver if anyone is looking to import.

1989 touring, originally 320i, with M30 swap. Less than 100k miles on chassis (130k km) - no info on mileage on motor or details of swap (e.g. if any rebuilding was done). Listed for $7250 (6900 euros) in Netherlands. Orchid Auto in Philly will import for around $2500-2800. Just passing it along as a service to the community, and so I can live vicariously through someone else's build thread ;D

How easy and trustworthy is this process? Any idea how long it would take to get to the final destination?

          Thanks,

Going through a broker like Orchid, I understand it all to be very above board and straightforward. For that $2500-3000 price, they will 1) PPI the car 2) facilitate the transaction/language issues 3) get the car on the boat 4) deal with all the customs/pickup process stateside 5) store it at their warehouse in Philly waiting for you to pickup, or coordinate shipping on to you. I think it's about 4 weeks shipping from Europe to east coast.

That cosmoline on the engine though
West German BMWs, they just don't make the same as they did before the wall fell.
^Case in point: Auto-Repair Technology. Everytime my car isn't starting or acting up I let it sit, sometimes for an hour, sometimes for days. But it eventually fixes itself.
