1986 BMW 325i coupe (M20b25 engine, 5 speed). Owned for 13 yrs. 4:10LSD, Bilstein/H&Rs, lots of maint records
Zinnoberrot Red, black 325is interior. Approximately 185K miles on body, around 175k on M20B25 engine (completely rebuilt after timing belt snapped at around 150k at a cost of around $5k)
Long time owner of several previous and current E30s and as well as many other BMWs, I have owned this red E30 for the last 13 years (since 2003). I?m selling due to recent house & P car purchase. A couple of cars on the fleet need to go so selling this and my E34 M5 (hopefully keeping one other E30).
About 13 years ago I bought a rust free 325e that had spent most of its life in TX and had a mechanic swap the freshly rebuilt M20b25 and 5 speed tranny from a crashed 1987 325is (I have a stack of maintenance receipts from the car which the engine came from as well). I also swapped the black Recaro ?is? seats, interior panels, trunk lid and speedo cluster.
In very good mechanical and running condition with lots of money spent in any required maintenance. Large stack of maintenance receipts dating back to previous owners. Changed oil religiously with either BMW or Mobil 1 synthetic and it only burns 1 quart of oil between changes (normal). No engine smoke, leaks or funny noises. It handles like a well setup for the street E30 should. Definitely not a show car but a great daily driver or a good candidate for DE or track car (available extra track suspension and wheels listed below).

- New 16x8 silver ESM 007 wheels with new 205/50/16 BF Goodrich g-Force Sport Comp-2 tires

- Fresh oil pan gasket (no more oil leaks) & fresh oil change with BMW OEM filter and synthetic oil
- New BMW OEM radiator and hoses. Fresh coolant flush. New OEM air filter
- New OEM passenger side lock and factory key
- Recently passed VA safety inspection
- New BMW OEM rear wheel bearing
- Passenger window motor
- New shift knob boot & black kidney grills (also have stock)
- New front windshield gasket and new front and rear shadowline black windshield trim
- Recent Cat-back stainless steel Scorpion dual tip exhaust and related hangers/gaskets.
- Recent front and rear brake rotors
- Timing belt done on 10/?14 at 162K miles
- Other maintenance receipts for all kinds of other smaller things
Notes
- Originally a TX car and it was re-sprayed before I owned it but failing clear coat in a few areas
- Surface rust in rear quarter panel and a couple of other small areas
- Some rust in battery tray, sunroof rear brackets and rear bottom quarter panel area (common areas & can take pics for those seriously interested)
- 3? rip in sunroof headliner (I have a matching spare sunroof headliner assembly ready to be swapped)
- Fan works fine but AC doesn?t blow cold air (all plumbing is there but never attempted to diagnose)
- No splits in Recaro seats leather but bolster seam has separated on driver?s seat (should be easy for an upholsterer to repair seam)
- Dash cracks
- Power antenna stuck in mid position
- Doors & trunk locks work fine but power locks do not
- Missing front part of passenger side rain gutter (I?m procuring a replacement)
