89 325ix coupe e30
Price is OBO
First things first:
-Current VA inspection til 2/17
-164k miles
-Transfer case is good
-Automatic...
With a new job and relocation in the coming months, I can't take 5 cars with me. Originally picked this up for winters. Drove it in the snow last year and was amazed how well it did, even on all-seasons. I daily drove this car from January through April. Heat works, windows work, power antenna works, all lights work.
The PO did some "bodywork" which I guess consisted of bondo on the fenders and hood where there were dents and just spraying primer on it. It never bothered me too much. The rest of the paint is actually pretty nice for the most part. It is an IX. it has rust on the rear valance and at the bottom of the fenders where the flares are. That seems to be the extent of it though, as it seems to be structurally sound.
It looks as though the PO (or the guy before him) did a fair amount of maintenance on it. Pretty much everything rubber in the engine bay looks to have been replaced within the last year or two. I don't know if the timing belt was done when all that stuff was replaced or not. The control arms look like they have been replaced recently as well.
Problems:
-Radio worked intermittently when I bought it, then stopped working completely. Head unit was prehistoric, so I took it out with the intention of putting a new one in to see if it fixed the problem, which I have not had time to do.
-Fuel gauge is not accurate, and the "low fuel" light doesn't work. I just filled up every 150 or so miles to be safe.
TLDR: Currently inspected, running, driving, stopping car that is a perfect winter beater as is, and could be a decently nice car with a little bit of work.
