For Sale: 1995 540i/6 Sport, Durham, NC $8,500.00 obo

    Hi Friends,

I'm selling my beloved 1995 540i Sport with 6-speed manual transmission. I've owned it since January 2015, and I am the fourth owner. I purchased it with approximately 82,000 miles and have put ~11,500 on it in the almost three years I've had it.

I searched for it for a year, and purchased it from an enthusiast in Richmond, VA, who'd owned it for the previous 13 years. We're selling because our needs have shifted toward something easier/more practical for two kids and a dog (i.e., it's too nice for me).

    Vital Stats/Options:
    • 93,XXX miles
    • Factory Sport package, including M-Sport suspension, heated/electric sport seats, etc. (It's not a full M-Sport model, so no active suspension)
    • Exterior: Oxfordgruen Metallic (324) original paint to my knowledge
    • Interior: Tan leather (Leder Bison Us/pergament (L3PE))
    • Automatic Stability Control (ASC)
    • Genuine BMW M-System II "Throwing Star" wheels with new BFG tires on rear
    • PO had it lowered slightly (1/2" in front, 1" rear) and installed Bilstein Sports (between the throwing stars and the lower, it looks great)
    • PO installed 11.9" cross-drilled/grooved rotors

I have a set of records from the previous owner, tracking all maintenance and repairs from 2001-2014. He's a talented DIY mechanic, did all his own work, and is a chemical engineer with DuPont Since I've owned it, it's been maintained by a local BMW specialty shop. In my tenure I have done:
    • Oil every 3,500-4,000 miles
    • New rear tires at 90,XXX
    • Blower motor switch
    • New battery
    • Brake fluid flush/replacement
    • Clutch slave cylinder replacement (this week)

It's not perfect, and will need some attention in the coming year. To my knowledge, it will most likely need:
    • Most likely a new clutch. It's not slipping, but my gut says it's due for one soon
    • New front tires
    • Windshield washer bottle or pump has a slow leak

Similar examples have sold in the $10,000-12,000 range (it's that nice). With the upcoming needs, I'm asking $8,500.00 for it.

I'll be detailing it and pulling "good" pictures together this weekend. I'll add those to the post as they are done. Here's a few from the last car wash.
