    FS: 2001 Yamaha r6 *MODDED*

    2001 Yamaha r6. blue. 14,500 miles. no clutch tranny or motor issues of any kind, no leaks, nothing, at all. 100% CLEAN CLEAR TITLE (people always ask that even if you put it in caps right in the add).. mods include;

Vortex rearsets and footpegs, ~100 miles on them
    Woodcraft aluminum gp shift lever
    Hyperpro steering damper
    Micron pipe
    Intuitive frame sliders (black)
    Intuitive bar end sliders (black)
Intuitive swingarm sliders/spools (black, brand new in package)
    vortex swingarm spools
pirelli supercorsas with ~100 miles on them
    clear led taillights
had been run on yamalube, when I bought it I switched to Amsoil
recent coolant flush, water and water wetter added
chain sprockets and brake pads all have tons of life left
comes with the factory tool kit

The bike was laid down before, prev owner locked up the front brake. mostly went down in the grass. No serious damage by any means, and everything necessary has been taken care of.

The frame, tank and swingarm all have no marks nicks dings not even a scratch. nowhere. there are a couple small cracks in the plastic (just one by the windscreen and one on the tail) 2 little spots of rash on the sides of the tailpiece and a tiny part on the mid faring

all the sliders on the bike are new, and Intuitive brand (one of the best brands for sliders, no cheap bs)

no problems with the bike whatsoever, tracks straight everything is fine etc. I've taken it on the track and had no problems whatsoever.

I'll have a set of pics up tomorrow or tuesday

I don't ride stupid. I don't wheelie, do stoppies or burnouts. Bike has been well maintained and I have confidence saying it doesn't have any issues

blue book value stock is over 5000

$4600 firm including all the mods.

I'm only selling to buy a track-only bike.

no lowballs. if i don't sell i'll just get some hotbodies for it and track it.

why not make that your track bike? it seems like you're almost there with some of the mods. all you need is good suspension up front and a good shock and you'll be there. are you just looking for something newer?

yea since i'll only be on the track im looking to pick up something track prepped, which usually go cheaper than street bikes, so I could go a few years newer. I'm looking for 03-04 r6. I was thinking ~03 cbr600rr, but my friend races AMA and he said new rr's are great, but the 03's were a bit heavy. but then again he is a factory yamaha rider so hes a bit biased lol

I want the 06 R6. Part of was/still am craving the GSXR1000, but I feel it is too much bike. Weighs a tad more than my 03 R6, yet has a claimed output of 180hp. Its wicked. But I feel at home on the R6, and I feel the new 06 R6 will only be better. I hear the slipper clutch aint much to brag about though. But other than that, its one if not the most technologically advanced 600cc sport bike on the road today.

You wanna take my 03 R6 off my hands? She needs a new head or someone that can weld the crack in it.

consider an 03 or 04 zx6r 636, too. i picked up a used one that was all set up for the track and it is an amazing machine. super easy to ride fast, great suspension and brakes (radial mounted calipers), and good torque from the extra cc's. i bought it for $4000.

I've considered those, but the motor problems scare me. There is a class action suit out there against kawi for all the blown motors, which kawi did not cover under warranty.

i've heard the 06 600rr is quite the bike, but I haven't ridden any 06's yet.

silversleeper, what are some details on the bike? i'm not so sure I want another project, I'm kind of sick of working on stuff lol, and I still have to get the motor together on the touring, and get my 240z going, so my winter plans are kind of cut out for me

well from what i hear it's quite the different animal, so keep a level head when starting out

but I didn't start riding dirtbikes till I started riding streetbikes. My buddy races AMA for a factory team. has a flat track, moto-x track, and like 8 dirtbikes at his parents house.

well I had hoped to wash it, but the rain wasn't having any of that. I got out of class at 5, and as soon as I did it started coming down.

                    snapped a few pics before it got bad out. remember its a bit dirty here;

also forgot to mention it has a 12v adaptor wired for a radar detector

and the tires pictured are not what come with the bike. Like I said, I have a set of pirelli supercorsas I'm about to have mounted up

Then you may not be too interested in mine. It would require a head replacement, unless you can source a motor for cheap (local guy here in MD selling one for $800) and direct swap that in. Frame is off by a degree by the steering head, so wheel base is shortened by an inch or less. It tracks straight, just need to modify lower fairing to make that fit. I couldn't sell it to someone without letting them know everything about the bike. I may just keep this one for the track and pickup a new 6 next year. But having the extra cash to help with the purchase is nice too.

if you decide to keep it and track it you should take the frame to a GMD Computrack shop and get it aligned. were you the one that dumped it? how bad?
