What is the typical charge to have the car imported to the United States? The document doesn't deal with price figures, just general info...

Correct, there are so many variables that it's never the same price.
We include the import duties as well, this is based on the selling price of the car, so varies on every sale. Taxes are different by state and the shipping prices is different per port, so you can imagine it's different every time.

But if you want a ballpark you should work with $1800 for the East and South coast and $2000 for the West coast.
Again, this can go up or down depending on the selling price, local taxes, local handling costs, and more.

And remember, this includes everything! So you can basically go to the port with your paperwork, sign off and drive away.
You are not facing PoA, Brokers, Bonds, Terminal handling charges, Export documentation, transportation of the car to the port and of course the actual sea freight…

Is the price and setup pretty similar for Canada?

Yes, for Canada it's about the same, execpt if you want to ship to Vancouver as that is the longest route possible.

Can the TD be imported to the US? I’m in Texas so thinking it could ship into Houston.

Does it have rust? I’d rather pass if it’s got rust and may be interested in the white one instead.

              Yes,

I have sold several diesels in the past to the US.
As long as they are over 25 years old it is no problem.

Few questions Regarding the white one:
What is that extra lock on the ds door? Why would they leave that when repainting?
Any other random locks/holes in the body?
Brown spot next to trunk release on boot, what is that?
                14" or 15" OEM wheels?
                M40, not M42, right?
                Any rust?

Ivo helped me import my 2 door touring project from Poland (not sold by him just helped with getting the car to me). He was very responsive, professional, and delivered on all promises. Was an interesting and pretty seamless process. He’s well known over on mye28.com (username Ovide) for helping import lots of euro parts. Great guy and an e28 expert. Buy with confidence.

The white car has a factory BMW alarm system, that is why the extra lock is in the drivers door and the LED sits next to the trunk release.

                    15" Aftermarket wheels.

                    Factory M40 engine.

                    No rust.
