    FS: S52-swapped E30 325iS

    For sale: 1989 BMW E30 325iS w/S52 swap + OBDI conversion/Conforti bolt-ons + ltw flywheel. 65k on engine, 209k on chassis.

    Asking price: USD$8500
I will take the best reasonable offer OR I will consider a trade if it meets these criteria:
    Room for 4 people comfortably.
    At least 5 cylinders.
Preferrably AWD/4WD/RWD, will possibly consider a FWD car.
Less than 100,000 miles, model year 1999 or newer.
I have cash on hand to add to the trade, if needed.
I'm willing to ship, I can accept someone who wishes to fly into DFW airport for pick up, or I would consider driving the car to someone depending on the situation.

The most f.a.q.: Why am I selling this car? I'm in college, I don't have the time or money to finish this project, and I need something practical, not a 13-second car that only has room for three people. (Although this car does get ~20.5mpg in the city regularly with zero highway driving...)

    Under the hood:
S52 3.2L engine from 1997 M3 with 61,000 miles, has 65k on engine now. The vanos unit was replaced during the swap. The water pump was also replaced with a post-recall metal impeller unit. The alternator, starter, brake booster, and radiator were all replaced with new units at the time of the swap. The steering rack should be replaced, I have a new unit w/tie rods and all other necessary parts waiting to be installed.

Engine is running OBDI management from OBDI 1995 S50 M3, has complete OBDI conversion and Conforti bolt-ons:
    OBDI M3 Intake manifold/throttle body
    3.5" Euro HFM
    Lightweight aluminum flywheel.
    24lb injectors
Conforti chip tuned for this setup
I've never had it on a dynomometer, but my best guess as to horsepower is in the 270-285bhp range.
A full part list will be provided to the buyer for maintenance purposes.

    Overall driveability:
This car is my daily driver currently. It runs fine, and everything on the car works.

Exterior: The paint is in good shape. There is a chip in the trunk (circled in red in one of the photos), and a similar chip/tool dent in the hood. There are two main problems with the exterior: The car is missing the iS front lip, and someone attempted to break into the trunk a few weeks ago and bruised up the driver's rear quarter panel a bit. There are good pics of both sides. The trunk lid was badly damaged and was beyond repair and has already been replaced with a 325i trunk lid.

Interior: Car is outfitted with a Momo RS GT seat and Schroth 4-point harness, both perfectly street-legal in at least 48 states. The carpet has two worn spots in it, one near the dead pedal and one near the tranny tunnel in the passenger side. Other than that the carpet is really in pretty decent shape. I didn't vacuum it before I took the pics so it's a little messy.

Audio: The car has a new Kenwood deck in it with Audiobahn components all around and is wired for a trunk-mounted amp/sub.

    Wheels/Tires:
The car has the stock basketweaves with Goodyear Eagles all around with about seven thousand miles on them.

Make sure and go to page two, there are another ten shots of the car exterior.

I apologize in advance for the interior shots, it was a normal Texas day when I took those (read: 90 degrees and extremely sunny in November.) It was impossible to get the lighting right. The interior is in good shape except the panel under the driver's side dash isn't installed (I have it) and the carpet around the dead pedal is worn. There are two small tears in the back seat which aren't visible in any of the photos. The dash has two cracks in it, visible in the photos. Any other information about the condition of the car can be gleaned from the pics provided, but if you have any further questions please feel free to make a post, PM me, or email me at ewing.t -AT- gmail.com

bump for a clean and VERY fast car

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

Yea, sounds pretty sick. Only thing I don't understand is why you're running S50 engine managment on an S52. Especially with all the mods, seems like the tuning would be way off. Any idea how much a custom tune usually goes for? I'd consider buying it if it wasn't for that.

I think he was just talking about the OBD1 conversion and the fact he is running a S50/M50 Ecu and harness.
