    ** The Bad
:: Daily driven schwarz bimmer (misc paint blemishes, nothing abnormal)
:: Roof has two oxidation spots (clear coat damage, no actual paint damage)
:: Windshield was recently repaired, however a hairline crack still shows
:: Top Portion of the steering wheel's leather is worn
:: The original owner did a shady job of cutting the trunk insulation for the ski-pass
:: No CD Player! (A Monster IPod FM Modulator will stay with the car)

This car's been my daily driver since September of 2004 through November of 2006. I've put just over 20K miles on the car, and have only repaired or replaced anything that I felt would keep the car in its original (OEM) status. I have truly babied this car, and am only selling to ease my transition out of the Military in the next 2 months. The only weakpoints of the car are portions of its paint, and the windshield (depending on how anal one is :pimpin: ). The car runs like a dream, and can manages 25-30mpg on average the whole tank. Would like $11,500 OBO, and I would prefer a local sale.

If there are any questions, feel free to contact me, and any additional information/pictures will be provided on a private basis.

    Thanks for looking, Andrew.

Took some more pictures today @ dusk. Sprayed the car off with some water, but haven't gotten a chance for the full exterior detail. More exterior pictures pending detail & some sunlight :)

I don't know what they are selling for in your area, but if you need to sell the car anytime soon, then you need to majorly drop the price. I just paid $13,000 for an 01 325Ci mint, 68k, premium, cd changer, leather, roof, auto, DSC, sport pack, etc. Aroun here at least, ALL 99 323i are well under $10k. But then again, I am in Massachusetts, where everyone drives a silver 3 series, so the market is flooded with them, and they are dirt cheap. Just an FYI, dont mean to be an asshole or anything, but just saying the price is on the high side.

your advice is appreciated, but the prices are still on the higher side here in san diego. not to mention all the basic upkeep items & service inspections are already taken care of on this car. it's cheaper in this situation than it sounds.

Thats good that the prices are higher in SoCal than New England! I wish you the best with the sale, but just an FYI- Coming from someone who was in the industry sales for 2.5 years, and used to appraise cars, maintence does not raise the value of a car at all.

For example, when people would tell me, new brakes, new this, new that, it dosent help the value any. For the simple reason that the car is expected to be maintained and not need work. A car is not worth more b. c maintence is all set on it..... its worth less if it needs work/repairs, but a car is expected value wise to be maintained and cared for.

Again, I hate to be an asshole, but I have run into sooo many people who will have a car for sale for ages, and bitch that no one is biting, and it because they are asking waay too much. A mint condition, perfect flawless 99 323i in my area is a $8,000 car, on a good day. If it has the average wear and tear, maybe $7500. Hopefully SoCal is like you said, but also remember what people ask for a car, and what the car actually sells for can be completely different, out here people tend to ask too much for all BMWs, not being cognizant of the fact that they are not all that expensive, LOL.

Best of luck with the sale anyhow.

i don't know this seller guy..... but youre being a real ass here! if you won't buy this car why you posting this?? keep your "sellers knowledge" to yourself... if someone wants to buy this car they will negotiate the price how they want and if the seller will want to sell the car he will give it for 9k or 7k or whatever

haha, thanks for the bump! it's no big deal though, especially since i'm well within the guidelines for the kelly blue book private party price. and that's assuming the vehicle has 'minor mechanical flaws,' which in this case, it doesn't :)

Sorry, but I am gonna chime in again.... Kelley Blue Book sucks, severley. It is the highest value guide, thats why sellers refer to it so much. The most accurate value guide I have found is the one through Edmunds.com.

Value guides suck...bad. Its amazing how much most of them are off by. Example, when I got rid of my Jeep, I got $2,000 over trade in value from KBB, but thats b/c Wranglers are very pricey, especially in my area.

Before someone flames me again, I am saying this b/c this is probably my other biggest pet peeve- the old "Well book value is XXX,XXX, so my car is worth that." NO, its not. Sometimes its more, sometimes its less. A car is worth what people are willing to pay for it on the open market. No more, no less. I'm not saying someone would not pay his original price of $11,500, I'm just saying it would be redicilous to.

If it was an established member on here, it would one thing, but for a complete newbie to post his car for sale for thousands more than its even close to worth on here, of course I'm gonna chime in and very quickly be frank about the ad.

oye, there's just no pleasing you, is there?

                        :)

                        car's still for sale, $10,500 OBO. how's that? :P

need to sell the car soon, thanks for looking

p.s. i'll give you the "newbie" status comment, but the fact is, the car wasn't posted for more than it was worth. if you're so sure it is, then try doing a 323i search with zip code 92145, or even 92109. the results you'll get will most certainly amaze you ping :)
