    FEELER: 1986 325i sport M-Technic I Race Car

I have given this a lot of thought over the past month or so, and i think it may be time to part with the one thing i never thought i would get rid of. I am only posting this here on R3V right now, nowhere else. This car has been my pride for over 2.5 years now. I have replaced just about everything i could on it. We will start with a "Mod list"

    1986 BMW 325i Sport
    European spec Grey Market car
    Mileage: 155,XXX

    Exterior: Diamantschwarz Metallic (paintcode 181)
    - Factory M-technic I front and rear valence/ side skirts
    - European “Smiley” ellipsoid headlamps
    - European Grills
    - Factory headlight wipers

    Interior: Taurus Red Leather
    - 4 point rollbar built by Bob Conway of the NJBMWCCA
    - Corbeau TRS seats
    - Radio Delete
    - Momo Champion steering wheel
    - UUC shift knob

    Suspension:
    - H&R Sport Springs
    - Bilstein Sport Shocks
    - 17x7.5 Kopi Alpina Replica wheels
    - 215/45/17 BF Goodrich G-Force Sports
    - Suspension Techniques Swaybars w/poly bushings- 22mm front, 19mm rear
    - E30 M3 Aluminum Control Arms
    - E30 M3 offset Control Arm Bushings
    - Polyurethane Subframe Bushings
    - Polyurethane Trailing Arm Bushings
    - Adjustable Rear Sway Bar Endlinks
    - Rear Swaybar fully reinforced by VAC Motorsports of Philadelphia

    Engine: Stock
    - K&N Drop-in filter
    - Ireland Engineering Adjustable Fuel pressure Regulator
    - Supersprint cat-less track pipe
    - Dinan rear muffler

    Drivetrain:
    - Polyurethane Engine Mounts
    - Polyurethane Trans Mounts
    - Autosolution Short Shift Kit
    - 4.10 LSD from ’88 M3
    - M Coupe finned differential cover with TMS solid mount (not installed)

    Brakes: Stock

A couple things- The 4.10 will not be coming with the car. The stock Taurus red leather sport seats (no rips/tears) will be coming with the car as well as the Corbeaus. The car has a brand new sachs sport clutch with less than 1k on it. The Exhaust combination is loud, but not deafening. Honestly, i wouldnt change a thing about it. it literally sounds amazing.

The bad: the car has one spot of rust. it's getting fairly bad. It is on the DS rear fender arch, before the wheel, down at the rocker. I do not have any pictures of it at this time. Also, the ECU is not working properly and needs to be replaced. I am in the process of getting one right now and whoever buys this can be rest assured of that. The car will not run at this time because of the ECU. One BFG G-force sport is down to the threads, it will be replaced. The foglights are cracked. I have new ones, just been too lazy to put them in.

The car right now sits at my mechanic, and friends house about 15 minutes from here. Next time i go over there, i will take a picture of the rust spot.

I really am probably going to regret getting rid of this car more than i have ever regretted anything in my life, but i feel its time to move onto bigger and better things. I am currently working A LOT, and going to school full time in between, so considering this is practically a race car, it shouldn't be my daily.

    Pictures:

    PRICE: $10,000.00

Any Questions Feel Free to ask. If you aren't interested, don't clutter up my thread with crap. Its a serious thread, so don't waste my time. As of right now this is just a FEELER as previously mentioned, just gaging [serious] interest.

*Edit- for reasons unknown to me, this car pulls harder than any other M20 car i have driven. (Thats saying a lot, trust me). my brother, Eurostyle30, can vouch for me. as well as Komissar. I have heard that early euro e30s had lighter doors than U.S. cars. No beams. it also has a completely gutted trunk. It never had sound deadening tar to begin with. After putting the 4.10 in, i gave my brother a ride. and after a quick burst to 100, he told me "Dude, this doesnt even sound like a M20 anymore." and another friend once told me "This car sounds like a F***ing freight train."

Clean car, nice european options. However, it is a Street car with performance upgrades, and nowhere near a "race car"

It is also worth more than $8,000 in my humble opinion.

Kind regards and best of luck with the sale,
        Chris

the "race car" is merely a suggestion. I would just prefer that it not become someones daily. In all honesty, it doesn't make for a great street car on these bumpy NJ roads.

Edit- after speaking with my dad and fellow enthusiast, i have to agree with you UNHCLL, i have adjusted the price.

You might want to put it on a lift and take photo's of the underside. The car is in Jersey known for bad weather so folks are gonna say RUST?

I know it's put away for the winter but...

It was just on a lift Thursday, i can take pictures although the underside is surprisingly clean. The car is stored winters, and hasn't seen salt.

My DD right now is a 97 ford explorer absolutely covered in salt. The BMW is spotless in my mechanics garage :)

                    Receipts:

All of the above receipts are from my ownership.

That is a 3-Ring binder over an inch thick of receipts from the previous owner. Some of these date back to late '87-1988.

Wow Andy, I can't believe that you are thinking about selling this? What are you going to get as a replacement?

I drove this car about six months ago and (at the time) it was in great shape and pulled hard. When Andy gets the new ECU squared away it should be as good as new.

Don't forget to remove that 4.10 if you sell it while I'm in Germany otherwise I'm keeping your security deposit ;) Bump for a good seller.

                            Hey Andy, you'll regret this.

This is a sick car, well maintained with some of the nicest parts out there.
