    FS: 1992 Toyota 4Runner

Up for sale is my current daily driver, which I'm replacing this week (or as soon as the dealer gets my new rig here)

    1992 Toyota 4Runner SR5 3.0 V6
    5-SPD Manual Transmission
    3.0L 3VZ-E V6 Engine

    Features

R12 Air Conditioning (which works perfectly)
Premium Package (Leather Interior, Power Everything, Sunroof, Running Boards, Tow Package, Rear Heater)

Currently has an Alpine Headunit installed, which I will be removing, however all the wiring is perfectly intact and unmodified, just install whatever headunit you want and hook it up, includes front Eclipse Speakers and factory rear components.

Replaced the Cap/Rotor, Plugs, Wires, and Headlight Assemblies about 20,000 miles ago

Timing Belt, Water Pump, Tensioners, O2 Sensor, Front Brakes (Rotors/Pads), Front Wheel Bearings all replaced 45K miles ago.

Rebuilt the Starter about 30K Ago.

Headgaskets changed ~100K ago via factory service bulletin
Steering Rod replaced 20K ago also via factory service bulletin

    Oil/Filter Changed every 3500 miles

Currently has 245,000 miles on it, I've put about 100K on it, which has been 80% highway driving, drives perfectly, suspension is a little soft but rides pretty well.. I can easily tow my boat with it, and does great in the snow, 4H/4L 4WD functions work perfectly. Transmission works fine, 2ND gear is a little notchy when cold, however functions perfectly fine once warmer... I have not replaced the clutch, however it grabs perfectly fine.

It does have a few issues here and there, first off it leaks power steering fluid, not much, but I keep it topped off, appears to be leaking at one of the hoses going to the pump.. Also has a small oil leak, however I have not traced that at all.

It has a cracked rear left taillight, and 2 small dents in the rear bumper on the right.. I bought it with these and never cared to fix them.. Exhaust past the muffler is rusted off, however no other rust damage exists on the truck.

Paint is good to excellent, minus a few scratches here and there, on the rear left, as well as a small strip on the front of the hood, but the paint is original.

Interior is a little tired, Drivers Seat leather is torn at the side, and cracked, however its still pretty soft, passenger side is okay, rear seat has a small hole in it. Arm rest is worn. Otherwise the interior is in pretty good shape. Right Rear Window does not work. Rear Defrost does not work.

Its a great running rig, its just time for a change... It makes a great counterpart for an E30, I can haul anything, tow anything, and pile tons of people into it and drive to california :p

I'd drive it anywhere without even thinking about it, runs perfectly.

Asking $4,000 OBO, which puts it in the center of what most of these are going for in WA... Toyota's do hold value very well, and this one should easily surpass 300,000 Miles.

Headunit, Sub/Box, Radar, and Navigation are NOT included, Need that gear on the new truck.

Don't want full time 4WD, which is all you get with the manual version.

That and its not really a 4 door (it is, but isnt)

I considered them, but its too much of a niche market product, like the jeep wranger unlimited.

Oh I know, I looked long and hard at the Xterra myself. The thing that kept me from buying it was the fact that Toyotas have a reputation for running longer than you'd ever want to own one. I'm curious to see how the Xterra stacks up off pavement.

It should be pretty good, I know many xterra people who offroad the shit out of them and they keep asking for more, that and I know people who also offroad old pathfinders without issue.

From a drivetrain perspective I put toyota and nissan equal in terms of design and reliability.

It should be fun, I really did like the FJ, but the transmission/transfer case options turned me away very quickly.

My 1993 Nissan Pathfinder had 230k on the odo and showed no signs of letting me down, until it rusted out.

My friend fell asleep at the wheel in his ~2000 xterra, launched a hill, shot about 5 feet in the air and landed hard, bending quite a bit of shit.

Almost definately has a bent frame, and it's still been a faithfull DD for about 2 years since then. We've also beat the hell out of it in 6ft deep mudpits and taken it just about everywhere we have over here.
Not too shabby I must say.
