Gosh, when will people realize that the 6 is the coolest BMW you can buy for under $10k?? TCD makes a turbo kit that can transform your car into a fire-breathing pimp ass grand touring car. They handle very well too, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. E30s aren't worth all the hype in my opinion, unless said E30 has an M30 in it... E24s value is rising more and more each year. You might just kick yourself in another 5 years when you can't find a nice E24 for the same price as a nice E36 M3! Some are already reaching up past $20k, not just M6s either!
trust me, i would love to keep it, i would. i do have a motive for why i'm selling: i need something that i can fit a baby seat in the back :). since the shark's rear seats are buckets, the baby seat slumps to far back. besides, i have a 1979 euro 635 project i can work on... wish it ran... but one day it will. i'm going with turbo alpina on that one. i just need something that i can fit a baby seat in, and a little smaller too considering i live in the city and parallel parking a 6er isn't the easiest thing. i'm not so much into the e30 hype since i'm a little old for it, but i do think they are beautiful cars and handle great aswell. thanks for the input euroshark!
So you have a '79 Euro? Very cool, my first 6 was an '81 euro, and my dad currently has a '79 US spec converted to euro! I also wanted to make my '81 an Alpina Turbo replica, but I had to put her down due to severe cancer all over...
Are you registered on Bigcoupe.com? It's a fairly slow moving forum, but there are some NICE sharks over there.
Uh... while I'm here... Would you possibly be interested in a 113,000 mile 1984 533i with nearly perfect interior and faded paint? Mechanically its a super solid car, I just installed Bilstein sports and H&R sports, she has 16x8 BBSs from an E38 with 225/50 Yokohama AVSs. Right now she is my daily driver, but if your 6 is daily driver material I could definitely make a trade...
Here's a picture. Please PM me if you are interested or have any questions!
nice 5er. i wouldn't mind having one! well, i drive mine everyday with almost no problems. i did take it to a reputable bmw shop around here and they said that it needs a valve adj. and it has a vacuum leak somewhere creating a rough idle. i've only put @5k since i've owned it, but i did drive it from NY down to SC so i would say mechanically it's not too bad.
honestly i don't think it would have any problems driving that far. when i had the m pars on it, i drove from NY to SC in it with no problems... shortly after that though it started idling rough due to vacuum leak. i need it sold by this week though. pm me for more details!
