FS/FT:88' 325IX tranny problem $1500
i go to school up in vt and i just put a bunch of money into the IX and cant pay for this new problem. what i really need is a jeep so i think its time to sell it.
Basics-
-1988 325 ix
-color is gray
-2 door coupe
-5 speed manual gear box
-Sport Package (all leather interior + ///M steering wheel, map lights,computer with MPG timer temp the works.)
-Ellipsoid lights
-Basket weaves
-IX body kit
-fog lights(broken lenses)
-front and rear spoiler
195,000 miles with full car history (bills, receipts, ect)
Upgrades-
-bilstein shocks and springs all around (lowered to about inch to inch and a half)
-Dinan performance chip
-Short shift kit(unknown brand)
-Sound System- Infiti kappa component speakers in the front, boston aucoustic 3 way 6X9 in the back, color changing [matches amber if preffered] clarion cd player[cannot get CD out])
-keyless entry + alarm
-rear liscense plate filler
-european plate
-thule load bars/housing
The Good-
falken ZE-512 all season tires (less than 1500 miles)
brand new brakes (calipers, rotors, pads, lines)
brand new catalytic converter and exhaust
brand new alternator
brand new timing belts
full tune up (oil, belts, coolant flush, the works...)
brand new lights all around
brand new intake valve and intake filter
brand new die hard battery
-strong clutch, strong engine. amazing mechanical working order
-replaced transfer case at about 140,000
-no accidents, no dents, a few light scratches
shes fast as hell and the AWD is amazing. she was owned by a bmw mechanic before me, then his son, so it was very well taked care of.
the bad
-TRANNY PROBLEM:
i was driving down from VT to MA and the car started making a horrible grinding noise. the noise only went on when i stepped on the accelerator when the car was in gear and clutch disengaged. i was unable to move the car with this problem so i had to cost to the nearest gas station. i got it towed and it is sitting at my house. i have not taken it anywhere to get check, could be anything.
-hole in the trunk where the car jack sits. maybe a bondo/sheet metal fix
-paint is OK, some rust
-sunroof has rust caught in the drains so it leaks on exceptionally rainy days (easy DIY fix, no time for me)
-sticky locks only allow doors to be open from drivers side. causing keylees not to work.
-finiky seats (easy DIY fix)
-AC needs recharge
-02 sensor needs to be replaced
-blower motor is boken and makes a bad noise when heat is turned on
-leaky rear left tire
i'm located in VT , so basically this is open to all of the North East. i need it towed/ taken out of my driveway asap
i've owned it for 2 years and put about 25k on the car
im asking $1500/OBO i am looking to get rid of this ASAP so let me know.
will trade/pay the differance for a jeep!
