I'm looking to purchase my first BMW. I love the lines of the E30, it reminds me of my old Datsun 510. Any way I have about $3000 to spend I would prefer to stay under that number.

jeff, the guy i work with at gourmet garage is selling his 90 ix, asking 2k though with no motor, but damn clean with 70k on the body. interior is perfect aswell. motors can be bought fairly cheap.

basically what I'm after is:
as new as possible, straight body (dings OK) reasonable paint (doesn't have to be perfect but ONE color is a huge plus) any engine as long as it runs well and a 5 speed (clutch should be in decent shape)

I don't think I'm asking too much.

With 3k you can find a nice one. Dont settle for less than EXACTLY what you want (such as MT or AT, early vs late style, etc).

BTW Chris does that IX still have the drivetrain? Just missing the engine?

If you come across a nice engineless non-IX I'd be interested in that for sure..

Hey philip1 I live in Atlanta but I dont think that car is worth it. I looked at it 2 weeks ago it was ruff .Iam a Bmw Master tech and looking for a rolling tub and I passed on that one !!
