    I do have a question for you though since you looks like installed a z4 3.0 lever, did you have to do anything special to make it work/fit , do you still have the sheet metal console ? How is it, does the shifter hit the console in any gears including reverse ? I would really love to do this to mine but could not confirm if it really is a drop in upgrade like on the late e30s with a newer shifter console...
    Definitely wasn't drop in. I had to use two of the lower cups stacked to get the lever to clear the driveshaft (no bending), and then I had to sand down part of the upper cup so that I could put the circlip in there. I didn't use the spring or hat when I put the Z4 lever in.

        I was afraid to hear that. Sounds like I'll be ordering a new oem shifter rod and metal console instead...
