Below is part of an email thread on one of the E28 forums in talking about the owner of the cars.

That's Frank Haas. Yes, I am good friends with him and know his cars. I almost bought his M535i in 2002 but then circumstances changed with my job, and later when I was in the market again I found my white car. I've also driven his E12 B7 Turbo (when I went to see the M535i).

Frank is as dedicated of an enthusiast as you would ever want to buy from. His collection is massive, he is one of the foremost Alpina experts in the US, and he doesn't skimp on his cars. The biggest problem I think is that they don't get driven enough.

He's contemplating moving overseas and needs to divest himself of his massive collection. It's no joke, all the cars are bonafide real Alpinas, M-cars, etc. He'd like to see the cars go to real enthusiasts not brokers so if you're serious but a bit short, talk to him on the phone and feel him out.
