specs
1990 325is
183k on the chassis
around 10k on the rebuild
5-speed
3.73 limited slip differental
the rebuild - im going to copy and paste this exactly as it was in dre's old fs thread.
1990 bmw 325is, schwarz black, set up for black interior (black door panels, grey carpet, etc) but comes with blue leatherette seats (the sport seats, manufactured by recaro (well bmw had recaro do the seats then produced them on their own). eibach springs
within the past 1000 miles, the car has received;
2.7 stroker motor. 88 325e 2.7 liter crank, rods and pistons. 2.5 cyl head. at this time, all belts, hoses, timing belt, water pump, headgasket and bolts, etc were replaced. also has Ireland Engineering urethane motor and transmission mounts. new clutch.
has i think a z3 shift knob.
within the past 50 miles, the car has received
new radiator
throttle body replaced
sony mp3 cd player
infinity coaxials all around
50% tint up front 20% in back
----------------------------------------------------------------
SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT
new thermostat
new upper radiator hose
m30 air fuel meter
19# injectors
HELLA HID'S retrofitted into the stock projector housings
new fuel filter/rubber fuel line from tank to filter
10 inch boston acousics sub powered by a 300 watt mtx amp
this car is seriously a blast to drive. tons of na power, AMAZING torque at all rpms, no grinds, clutch feels brand new, very smooth ride considering its a 17 year old car. also, the car is completely rot free, there is a bit of surface rust forming on the rocker pannels that i have been meaning to take care of but havent gotten around to yet. a few hours of sanding/spraying and it should be as good as new.
the bad-
-needs a hood and passenger side fender (badly dented/paint peeling)
-rash around the fuel door area
-2 small dings on trunk lid, 1 small ding on the drivers side fender
-im having a engine cut out problem under heavy throttle. i think i just need a custom chip burned to make up for the injectors/afm. under normal driving the car doesnt skip a beat, but when you get on it hard (shifting hard from 1-2) the engine will cut out for a second, catch its self, then run like nothing ever happened.
-needs exhaust (a downpipe back (including cat) ($$$) exhaust will be included with the sale.)
-tach/fuel gauge dont work (warning light will come on for fuel gauge when you're right around 2 gallons left in the tank, doesnt display fuel level right, a new metric cluster with new SI board batterys (most likely the culprit for both gauges not working) will be included with the sale.
i really wish i could keep it, i really do. i honestly just dont have the money for everything that i want it to be right now. this car would be an amazing project for the right person.
enough of that, on to the pics... these are the only ones i have hosted at the moment.
